Betsy's World

2022-08-26に共有
Directed by Sam Brosnan, and produced by the Farnsworth Art Museum, “Betsy’s World” shines a new light on Andrew Wyeth’s greatest works, which owe their very existence to Betsy’s vision. Shot in the rooms, fields, and private islands that have served as subject, muse, and home to the Wyeths, and featuring rare interviews with both Wyeth sons, Jamie and Nicky, this documentary short will show you that art is bigger than the person holding the paintbrush.

Beautiful. A treasure to behold such authenticity in the individuals but also environs. Thank you for this video.
  • Andrew and Betsy were my great Aunt and Uncle. I feel cheated that I was never able to meet them, so my daughter did a likenesss of Andrew in his pea coat. You'd think it was a photograph. I inherited several of his paintings not long ago. I feel so fortunate.

what fascinates me so much is how Andrew. mixed his paints
DANKE GROSSER MEISTER ANDREW WYETH:
  • Your mom would always tell me if he was still here he would do a portrait of me.
  • Funny how enjoyable these art documentaries are when there are no art critics and "experts" verbally fouling things.
  • Well now egg tempura is not a plein air medium. So distant thunder was only the moment he saw the painting. It took weeks or months to paint every stalk of grass in egg whites....
