In this video we test various 12ga shotgun loads to determine their maximum range of effectiveness. We put birdshot, buckshot, slugs and Barry's old favorite Cutshells to the test from a Benelli m2 and had some very interesting results that you'll want to stick around for.

This videos should be called "Guns will kill the shit out of you at almost any distance. Do not get shot".
  • @leokimvideo
All I know is when things fall apart the absolute best weapon to have on hand is a shotgun.
  • @democratsuck
"A shotgun slug at 300 yards can kill the crap out of ya." Truer words have never been spoken.

My grandfather was grown and had a family to provide for back during the depression. He taught me about cut shells when I got my first single shot 12 ga. Back before the internet even existed.

To be fair, at 200 yards it's pretty tough to convince a jury of self defense.

    RIP Barry "CutShell" Elliott
  • @bmstylee
I thought we would never see cut shells again after Barry died. that made me happy.

Very cool video with useful analysis for making home defense protection decisions. Thank you for doing this and for sharing your findings. I am sure that the loads which work in your M2 will also work in my M4, but this will be fun to test and verify.

Absolutely awesome video. My favorite shotgun ammunition test ever. My father showed me the cut shell technique when I was just a kid. He killed many whitetail with them. Turning a bird load into a slug is fantastic! Thank you for the great testing!❤

r.i.p. Berry Elliot we miss your old badass grandpa attitude.and he seemed like a genuinely good guy. and thanks for the old trick with the cut shells. I love em.
  • @brandonstews238
Eric, thank you for all you do. Barry would be happy that his cutshell knowledge is being passed on.

Going on 20 years ago while a small arms instructor in the Navy I walked in a volley of rifled slug on a 16x16 plate at 300yds from a standard issue Mossberg 500. The first two hit low but successively closer with the next three all hitting the plate. Me and my fellow instructors were all pretty impressed with the rounds accuracy.
  • A few years back I had no slugs while hunting for deer i tried a cut shell in my 20ga single shot and dropped a deer at 35 yards thanks mr.Barry we miss you bud

Badass Barry knows the secrets to making things extra lethal.

@Iraqveteran8888, I just got into the world of shot guns (outside naval service) and it really is a whole nother world of fire arms knowledge! Even though I am late to the scene, I really appreciate this video and the slew of other content you have put out. It really makes a difference and very educational. As always, thank you for your service and continued support for the people and Our God given Rights.

As someone who has limited experience with firearms, small cal rifles and different cal. handguns in boot camp, (non combat vet) and civilian life, I'm a fair shot at 50yds. This has been very informative. It's good to know what's effective at what range. I'd be interested in you demonstrating handguns and automatic rifles. Thanks and kudos to the cameraman, nice work! 👍😉🇺🇸
