Funny story: When my younger brother was adopted, he was allowed to pick a new name for himself… Loving TMNT, he picked “Michelangelo”, but the folks at the adoption office said that would be too weird, so it was shortened to “Michael “… I was adopted at birth, so I couldn’t choose mine… I’m just glad that I didn’t end up like Goo from Foster’s…
  • I'll never forget playing the original arcade game in the nickel arcade with my dad.
  • 🤣 Love the last skit! I think every game needs a Radio Buddy... Just like the good olde days.
  • Gamesack has been a valuable part of my life since 2014. Thank you and Dave for everything. Please don't ever stop.

I stumbled onto gamesack in 2014 during a transition point in my life. This channel will always have sentimental value to me. I'm 34 now and I know when I'm 45 I'll look back at these 20 year old videos with fond happiness.

TMNT in the arcade was mind blowing to 12-year-old me. 4-player co-op action, the opening theme song from the cartoon was intact, and who can forget, "Say your prayers, toitles!"
  • Sundays aren't Sundays without Game Sack! And it's even better if you are talking about the TMNT! ❤️ Period!
  • Love me some Turtles in Time. Can’t wait for the Cowabunga Collection!
  • Turtles in Time was one of those rare instances where the home version was better. It might have been missing frames of animation and some voice clips, but it had extra bosses, an extra level that made the transition to time travel much smoother, and the soundtrack sounded better than the arcade version to me. I'm glad both are being included in the Cowabunga Collection, along with most of the other games featured here.

I'm guessing you skipped Out of the Shadows and Turtles in Time Re-shelled because they were digital only and have been delisted? They are both easily playable using a PS3 emulator for those who wish to try them. They are not quite as bad as their reps would suggest and better than most of the other 3D brawlers covered here.

Fun Fact, Game Arts was also one of the primary developers that assisted Sora Ltd and Nintendo in the Development of Smash Bros Brawl for Wii. So I assume that played a role in taking up Development duties for TMNT Smash-Up.
  • I felt like Mutant Melee was more akin to a Power Stone than Smash bros
  • In fact, there are two new levels (not only one) in the NES version of TMNT The Arcade Game. The other one is the Dojo with the tigers and stuff.

I'm glad to see Mutants in Manhattan get some love. I enjoyed the game to no end when it was released!

The ending skit is 10/10 😂😂

This channel never misses. ALL KILLER NO FILLER!! 🤘
  • The fact that the original cast from the 80's cartoon voices their respective characters on the latest game is a definite sell for me, and this is AFTER the fact that I wanted the game when I saw it on the Microsoft store a few weeks back! I am 44 and still love the games that take after the original 80's TMNT.

I'm a huge TMNT fan. This might be a favorite episode.
