In this video i will be talking about why Minecraft updates don't feel the same. And why some of the old updates are superior to the newer ones.

Reminder that 1.15 was a "filler" update, it was 6 months after 1.14 and it was 6 months before 1.16 so it was just extra features. Goated update
  • the trails and tales update is just like a fever dream, the armor trims got added, and thats really it i cant think of anything else, and i forgot about the cherry blossoms since the biome is as hard to find as a mooshroom biome.

Remember, all these updates are not bad, and i enjoyed them all. But i think some are better than others :)

I actively avoid copper lol. I hate it on a principle, like an old man yelling at the sky. I think the best updates are the ones that you interact with often and feel like they fill out under-developed parts of the game. Ocean update - Perfect, there was absolutely nothing to do in the ocean before this, now there's a ton! Village update - Sure. A good portion of it was reskins, but some decent QOL and extra features and developing a fairly simple part of the game into something more robust. Nether update - Literally a whole dimension, now a ton less boring, with a lot more to do. Caves/Cliffs proper - Expanding down and up, almost making a new dimension when you go too deep (kinda like Terraria): great idea! Though I think this might be where Mojang/MS started including a ton of "bloat" features that you touched on in the video. What Mojang should stick to is developing under-developed parts of the game, not adding totally new features. Of course, this can include new features and mechanics, but they should build upon what exists. Adding something completely new should be momentous and not something that happens every update. For example (which may be what the goal is with the Trial Chamber stuff), Jungle temples and Desert temples have been (to my knowledge) completely unchanged since they have been added. They could release more variants, better traps, different loot, other biomes, hints to find them, etc. etc. There are plenty of areas of the game that need improvement before Mojang moves to adding new stuff.

I think some Minecraft updates "Don't feel the same" to me at least is the fact that it felt like this is all new and confusing to me. I mean I felt like an old man getting my brother to explain that there are wind creatures who drop these things that make wind charges. I didn't even know pottery was a thing in Minecraft until you showed that footage, which was absurd to me. To me it might've been me simply being older and not focusing on Minecraft as much. Also, to me stuff like the ocean or the nether being remade was wayy easier to get used to as they added on to an already existing thing, while some features feel like filler. I think I yapped more than actually make points honestly.

Most updates were small, then they got really big and so people expect greater of mojang. Then we go back to the smaller updates and peoples opinions get changed. Now I will say that the updates are kinda strange but still.
  • 1.19 was so underrated, i LOVE mangrove swamps and ancient cities

not bad content man, you have a lot of potential and will definitely get better over time. i suggest writing a script for your videos to improve the flow of your talking points. id also say you should turn down the music just a bit and use more than just one song on repeat, and although i do like it you don't necessarily have to use Minecraft music for your background song. good title and thumbnail that got people to click. i don't know anything about content creation though so take my suggestions with a grain of salt! keep up the good work.
  • ...and people were saying the same thing when 1.16 came out
  • @borekminer
i find 1.16 as the best version of minecraft as all the new textures of ores and such seemed off so i hope for the new updates to update the end more too, maybe il return to the game then
  • 1.20 kinda sucked but 1.21 is AWESOME!!! But no matter how much I think they could do better with an update, each update still makes Minecraft a better game by giving it more content. I also don’t get what the Mojang is lazy crowd is saying because if you look at what they’ve done since update aquatic it’s honestly incredible

ight man you might just be a little blinded by nostalgia
