Welcome Sleep Club members for this lengthy overview of the Emperor's Custodes - and also for those who have immediately dived on in to the comments before even beginning the video :face-blue-smiling: Please LIKE for Lord ALGO the Destroyer :yt:
-
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only blackrock
-
Being a member of the sleep club I can say I enjoyed the first 10-15 minutes of this video
-
Hard to believe such an important position as the captain-general of the custodes is fulfilled by a man named "Kitten"
-
The idea of 9 foot tall demigods going out among the grimdark drudgery of the galaxy to do anything "covertly" as the eyes of the emperor never fails to make me chuckle.
-
Bless the lore master and his balls to release this at this time.
-
Hold fast my golden brothers, the next data slate will make our army not shit I swear

Ha. Doge. He didn't think we'd notice. But we did.

I've only followed 40k lore for about 2yrs now and I don't think Valdor will betray the emperor. I always think of the very beginning of Valdor: Birth of the Imperium. The conversation the emperor has with Valdor when he first wakes up has always been on my mind. The convo is vague. He tells Valdor to ask any question because in the days to come information and data is all he'll be able to give him. "There's no such think as a free lunch" "you pay a price for all things and this is mine" "I will become less than human... and more" "with one bargain you become stronger, you make another you become weaker." "It applies to mortals, it applies to gods, not that I intend to become one." And then the emperor ask if Valdor understands the reason for the grand bargain and if he finds it unworthy while asking him to speak freely. Valdor says "infinite power can't be overcome because we're finite, limited by law... so deception" "you will cheat them, you will cheat all of them and us" "a risky strategy, but there are no others" and he doesn't find the emperors plan unworthy. I honestly think it's the most important piece of lore with regards to the future 40k could be heading, although GW could always change things. I guess what I'm getting at is that Valdor knew all of the plans of the emperor, just as Malcador knew. The deception could lead to the emperor gaining power on the scale of the chaos gods, but he's not going to try and become one. But just cause he's not going to try doesn't mean its not a likely possibility. Valdor was in on the true deception and it's overall scale so I don't think betrayal is possible. One of my fav books. I'd honestly like to know what everyone else thinks. I've not had a chance to bring this up with anyone and I've not seen the convo in the book referenced anywhere on the internet.

You should add the 10,000 Custodes to your 40K number problem video. There's no way that 10,000 individuals can adequately patrol a continent sized complex in addition to working as jailors, the Emperor's personal body guard, fighting off daemons in the web way, and sending war parties out into the galaxy. There has to be at least 10x that number and the Custodes only ever say there are 10,000 of them so that the High Lords of Terra don't perceive them as threats.
-
Any baseline human who's seen a Grey Knight has also likely seen something that would make a Grey Knight kill them without batting an eyelid.
-
"In regards to Lutin's content, there has always been a Custodians video, since the first of the Youtube algorithms were created.โ
-
Oh boy, i went straight to the comments on this one๐.
-
Luetin sneakily plotting the whole female custodes drama so it happens as hes finishing his custodes video (this one will make numbers)
-
Bought a pizza and come home to a new Leutin?! Thank you good sir for brightening a poor day
-
This couldnโt have been dropped at a better time.

Rogal meets his first Custodes. Hello, I'm Dorn "Welcome Rogal Dorn, I'm... *Three Hours Later It's pleasure to meet you. "

We applaud you Luetin09. Sticking to the known lore and giving us the face of The Sons of Holy Terra, Chosen Guardians and Custodians of The Emperor.

These races, factions and subfactions vids are my favorites. WH40k has interested me ever since I was a teenager, but the amount of lore was too overwhelming for me to ever consider diving deep into it. The pleasure I've got out of listening to your vids is astounding. Thanks so much.
