Yet again, Universal started a whole new race in theme park experiences in the US. Hopefully, both Disney and Universal keep this going for the coming decade, and so. Win win for the guest, other than these upped prices ๐Ÿ˜‚.

That concept art looks like a coaster made of thorns and Maleficent actively breathing fire ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

10:25 Coco artwork looks like the Epcot Mexico Pavilion artwork they were using for the old rumored Three amigos boatride conversion, even has the stage with the 3 characters!

Jack, youโ€™re a real one for staying up all night and creating and uploading this by this morning. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The Hong Kong Spider-Man is very much Tower of Terror. The seating arrangement in the ride vehicle matches up perfectly, and the white plate in front is clearly the sliding door guests enter the vehicle through. Iโ€™m actually shocked theyโ€™re still using this ride system but Iโ€™m happy to see it implemented.

Randall Boggs didn't stay gone. He returned in Monsters at Work!

What WASNT mentioned at D23: no Epcot Spaceship Earth attraction refurbishment, no Epcot Wonders of Life shuttered pavilion information, no Epcot Journey into Imagination update, no Epcot World Showcase updates of any kind, no Disneyland Tomorrowland or People Mover mentions at all, no Star Tours update
  • @isaaccooper505
The whole sequence before and including the announcement of villains land was so hype

Excited for Villian's Land, just hope they don't get rid of Rivers of America or the Liberty Square Rverboat.

This is enough stuff that I'll be impressed if even half of it actually happens. At this point, I don't think anyone could be blamed for being skeptical. I remember when the rumor about the Monsters, Inc. coaster was that it would be a re-theme of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. But that was always too high-thrill a ride for that to be a really good fit for a family property like Monsters, Inc. People are talking about replacing MuppetVision and Star Tours, but I'm wondering if the idea is really to gut Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and use the show building (in which case it'd be way up on Sunset Boulevard). I heard that they mentioned the Radiator Springs Racers-like ride having a somewhat higher thrill level with some kind of drop, which immediately reminded me of Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea (it uses the Radiator Springs/Test Track system but has a not-very-steep, ~50-foot dark drop at the end). I wouldn't expect it to be on that scale, though--Journey uses the gigantic Mount Prometheus structure.

I personally think that the new Zootopia show within the Tree of Life makes sense considering that the tree itself is a collage of every known animal on earth.

9:45 Stark Flight looks like they are just reusing the old Epcot Innonventions Sum of All Thrills stationary attraction

My 11 y/o son was watching this with me and when you asked what are you most looking forward to he said, "Epic Universe." LOL! I'm actually excited for the little Carsland they're planning to build in Magic Kingdom. I think I would have liked Moana more, but Cars looks nice and it is a popular IP and a fun one for kids. It is exciting that they're building two new Marvel rides at DCA. I think that was a big surprise; people were only expecting one. One thing that Disney in CA really has over WDW is the number of attractions per park. Then today they announced 4 new attractions for DCA, and they're only replacing maybe one ride (Monster's Inc.) to build all those new rides. So they're really increasing their capacity, and 3 of the 4 rides look like they'll have pretty good capacity. That arm ride seems a little odd; I hope it isn't a technical nightmare that doesn't last. If they replace Star Tours with Monster's Land I will be very disappointed. Studios only has 9 rides. The idea that they would close Muppets and Star Tours (two good capacity attractions) with a rollercoaster (less capacity) is crazy. I really hope they build this in the animation courtyard or somewhere where they don't have to remove rides or high capacity shows.

It's Tough to be a Bug is brilliant in so many ways. Being a film, they could have simply introduced new insects every so often.

Latest technology will empower Imagineering to create a Walt animatronic who smokes, just like the real Walt.
  • @Lovesapuzzle
For every laugh there should be a tear. For every thrill there should be a chill. I hope this new villain's land will have a coaster AND a calm attraction (ride or show).

Un Poco Loco from Coco was included in Mickey's Philharmagic show in the Magic Kingdom behind Cinderella Castle as Donald tried to salvage an orchestra detail. If Coco got a sequel, it will show Miguel witnessing a Cinco de Mayo fiesta planning and his cousin Rosa's quinceanera on a tight schedule before going on a world tour with a mariachi band and a girl his age, leading the band and on the way, stopping and destroying the elusive Chupacabra.

I remember rumors of a villains land 20 years ago when I was a little teenage gremlin on the Micechat/WDWMagic forums. It's crazy to see it finally not only acknowledged by the company but actually greenlit. I thought it was going to be my Winds of Winter.

I've been burned by Disney announcements so many times- I'll believe these things are coming when they go vertical.
