In this Solo India Travel Vlog, I explore the city of Chandigarh. Chandigarh is known as one of the most well planned cities in all of India! It's also the capital of both Punjab and Haryana states. Chandigarh is known for being very green and an easy place to walk around. I took a train here from Rishikesh after doing yoga in Rishikesh for a month, so this felt like the first Indian city I actually got to solo travel and explore! I started at my hotel in sector 8 and walked over to the hedgehog cafe. It was an adorable cafe full of books and good food! While it was more expensive than I was used to in Rishikesh, it was still a great cafe! After there I walked up to Sukhna Lake. The lake was so busy, maybe more so because it was Sunday? I wanted to take a boat on the lake, however I wasn't allowed to get a pedal boat alone and the shikara boats weren't going on the day I visited...so I had to pay 450 Rs for the big 'luxury' boat across the lake with other people. It was actually a really nice ride! We went the whole way across the lake and it was cool to see all the people hanging out around the lake during the daytime. When I got off the boat I walked 15 minutes along the main road to the Rock Garden. It was a really nice walk as there were lots of people out and people biking along the bike paths. I even saw some people go by on a camel ride! Once I arrived at the rock garden I was happy to see that tickets were only 30 rupees for an adult - the same price for both locals and foreigners. I bought a ticket and spent the next 30ish minutes exploring the rock garden. It as a really cool place! It was very busy when I was there, but I was still glad I went! After the Rock Garden I continued walking down to the Rose Garden. As I visited Chandigarh at the end of January, there weren't many roses in the Rose Garden, but normally there are over 40,000 plants there! It was a really nice garden full of flowers, fountains, and no trash anywhere! I walked the whole way through the Rose Garden and arrived at Sector 17 - the city center of Chandigarh. After exploring the pedestrian area of Sector 17 for a while my phone died! I didn't want to be out after dark without a phone so I ran back to my hotel to charge everything before my final stop: Elante Mall. I ubered to the mall where I ended up having an amazing pasta for the first time in the month I'd been in India. The following morning I went to another cute coffee shop next to my hotel so I had to take a video because it had the best cinnamon roll ever! Then I jumped in another uber to head up to Kalka and get ready for the Kalka-Shimla toy train! I had a really amazing time exploring Chandigarh! It's such a nice city. Hopefully next time I'm there I can actually rent a bike!!!

Ma'am, In this city, a single woman can safely walk outside even at midnight. It is considered the safest city in India, with diligent law enforcement and minimal criminal activity. The city's extensive surveillance network, comprising thousands of CCTV cameras, ensures a high level of security.

Ovenfresh Pasta is the BEST, itโ€™s a very old chain of Bakeries. At least 3 decades old, Chandigarh is a very cool city.

I really appreciate you showing great tourist areas of India, rather than visiting slums and using a yellow tinted screen. There are some foreigners who are only interested in seeing slums in India with yellow tinted screen. There is a vlogger called Chrismustlist, he showed bad areas of USA and got millions of views. He even made vlogs on bad areas in India and only got a few hundred thousand views. He even showed bad areas in Thailand and got few thousand views. But, there is a difference, a lot of people are familiar with USA so if you show them 7th Ward in New Orleans, they are still familiar with Fats Dominos, French Quarter in New Orleans, Tulane University and Sazerac Whiskey. However, if you show them Dharavi they think entire India is like that. They are not familiar with Panaji, they don't know that 40% Catholics live with 60% Hindus in harmony, they don't know about BITS Goa, they don't know about Lorna and they don't know about Paul John Whiskey.

Nice tour, very clean, like you said. Interesting video, as usual ! Nothing like a little pasta, sweet cinnamon bun, and real coffee to refresh a memory. Have fun, stay safe, and enjoy immensely. See you soon.
  • nice vlog. since summer is around the corner, up in the mountains like Kullu, manali, dharamashala etc would be great places to avoid the scorching heat..be safe and happy travels
  • Wow, nice to see you visiting Chandigarh because very few foreign tourists go to the city since it is not really known for its tourism.. I wish more could go so that when they leave India, they could have this impression that not all cities are polluted and dirty.. some are well maintained as well
