  • Wow the last time I heard this song I was just a lil kid & now I'm 40yrs old with almost a month clean from opiates! Praise be to God Almighty!!
  • i am 17 and lost my wonderful mother on sunday, april 24th. this was one of her favorite songs. she was only 40 and her 41st birthday was coming up on may 20th. she was given four months to live or to get everything in control in september 2020 and she made it all of the way to 2022. she was so strong and beautiful. i miss her so much and i am in constant mental and physical pain. i am so lost without her. i am so sorry to anyone who has lost a parent or close family member, my heart aches for you.
  • The most beautiful line I have ever heard in a song… “she keeps a lick of hair in her pocket… she wears a cross around her neck… the hair is from a little boy, and the cross is someone she has not met… not yet!” Powerful line

Lost my brother to fentanyl 7 weeks ago. This was my favorite song yet I had no idea what it was about until he sang it and played the guitar for me and said sis it’s about addiction. May God and the Angels be with all of us and especially those battling addiction. My heart is forever broken. Please find the strength to save your life for yourself, your family and all that love you!!! You are worth it.
  • I was a heroin addict for over a decade. I lost my son. When I finally got clean my Dad told me this song always broke his heart, it made him think of me. It still makes me cry to hear it. Now I’m coming up on 8 years clean. I have a family and a little farm and it’s everything I ever wanted and never believed would happen. If anyone reading this is struggling, please know that you are worth it. The pain can be managed without your poison and you can find joy and let go of the guilt. Please don’t give up. You are loved.

As a mom of a heroin addict sober for 5 years this song is my power song. It reminds me that I am never alone & that every day we have on this earth is a gift. I talked to so many angels begging them to keep my child safe & bring him back to us. Thank you to my angels who listened & brought him back to me. I already have an angel son I couldn't survive having 2. I talk to angels everyday praying for them to keep him strong enough to fight the demon heroin.
  • RIP mommy♡ this was and always will be your song. Melissa May 1972-2015

No story about a deceased friend or family member, just here for a really good tune

My sister passed away in September of last year. This was her favorite song. She struggled with addiction most of her life. We played this loud for her at her funeral. Everytime it plays out of nowhere, I just smile knowing it’s her up there giving me a sign. Thank you so much for this song. My family can find peace through our grief, connecting this beautiful song with her.

I’ve been fighting with addiction since 1995 and I’m still struggling with it at the age of 53 and I really don’t know if I can win this one but these comments offer hope and this tune is proper gold. Peace and love ❤

My heart aches for every soul who struggles with addiction. Big, big respect for all of you who have beaten it…even if only for a day or week. Keep fighting. ❤️

To my fellow alcoholics and addicts who made it through to the other side: Don't mourn the time you lost, celebrate the time you have left. I'm proud of all of you. And to those still trying to break the cycle: Keep trying, try anything, one day something will stick but you can NOT give up.
  • 1 week of sobriety down ... Many more to come God willing of course ❤️🤞
  • A moving tribute to all who have struggled, and sometimes didn't make it back, from addiction.
