Wideroe E190-E2 Review: CRAMPED, UNCOMFORTABLE, DISAPPOINTING!

I flew onboard a Wideroe E190-E2 for a flight from Tromsø to Bergen, Norway. Whilst the aircraft itself is a lovely quiet, smooth ride, the configuration Widerøe have opted for is incredibly cramped and tight.

Let’s be fair. There’s nothing wrong with the E-190 E2. It’s a good plane. The seats are an aftermarket product selected by the airlines. They choose the pitch too.

Honestly: the problem is clearly Wideroe, not the E190-E2. You should try it again flying with a "not so hardcore" lowcost airline.

Airbus A320 Family: [Barking sounds] Embraer E190-E2: [MAJESTIC WHALE NOISES]
  • GE: loud whine RR: aggressive roar PW: humpback whale mating noise
  • All of the E190s will have different seating configurations and it all depends on the airline. The E190 is the most comfortable regional jet I’ve been on. This particular airline chose a 29in seat pitch which would be very tight. So this particular plane is uncomfortable because wideroe choose a very tight seating configuration, but as a whole this airplane is very comfortable if you were flying a different airline.

I had the exact opposite experience with the E2! I'm not aware of the forward rows having more legroom but Row 4 had plenty of space and was fine for someone 6 foot!

those were just whale songs while taxiing...

The seating configuration has been changed and several seats have been removed recently! ☺️

How airlines can justify providing seats that are now virtually incapable of seating someone, let alone in any sort of comfort, is beyond me. Spending 2 hours in pain is not on.
  • O problema não é o modelo do embraer,a configuração é do gosto da compania! Sem contar que esse passageiro é uma girafa!

if you get a chance to take this flight again you really should! i took a flight with the e190 e2 when they first started service with wideroe and it was really uncomfortable. then yesterday i took a flight on the same plane from london to bergen and ive gotta say its really improved! probably one of the most comfortable and enjoyable flights ive taken.
  • Azul airlines in Brazil have recently (in the last week or two) have taken delivery of their first E195-E2

The odd sounds during the taxi are harmonics generated by the speed of the engines - they give a frequency which will resonate with flexible structures such as the wings.
  • I work in the cargo hold to the E2 and even they are very cramped.
  • @Cerby1979
You could try Azul Brazilian’s recently delivered E195 E2.

I would love to see the full flight video of this flight! The scenery is absolutely stunning!

3:56 those sounds are a staple of any aircraft operating the PW1000's.

Ouch! I'll be sticking with their Dash 8's I think with that kind of crammed cabin. A shame though since the plane + cabin itself looked lovely and modern and you can't beat the Scandinavian views. Great honest review from you Noel, thanks!
