Stop Beating Yourself Up. You Haven't failed, neither have you succeeded. Persist!

It took me years to realise is didn't fail and neither did I achieve what I set out to create, I just didn't put in enough time, effort and intention.
Whatever you're doing, know that it'll take you putting some skin in the game, making your efforts more intentional and even more importantly, sticking to the game long enough to win. Don't brand yourself a failure simply because you you lacked the patience to fight long enough.
A great movie that illustrates this is Rocky. The guy was literally a punching bag for apolo. But you know what?
He kept rising up.
You can't beat such a person.
