Personally, this episode is too painful to watch till the end. My great grandfather still lives with deformity in his fingers, toes, feet & hands from being tortured by the British. Yes I'm 100% African in Africa & this is episode hit's home very painfully💔

As long as humanity exists, there will always be evil people roaming around

Leopold the 2nd is so under studied. He was a monster.

Can you imagine he took the Congo as his personal property not even the property of Belgium, his personally, it was a bonkers time.

It’s hard to imagine the level of cruelty and disregard for human life that this man must have had. Truly a dark chapter in history.

The fact that someone so evil existed is crazy

Humans truly are the worst. The atrocities people are capable of when given permission to do so is truly horrendous.

The fact that Leopold's statue has been around standing somewhere in Belgium until recently is kind of hideous

People assuming they know what's best for other people, has led to many tragedies all over the world.

Before Congo, he tried to buy the Philippines (Spanish East Indies during those time), but Spain said nope.

NEVER DISMISS and FORGET the evil doings of people, but CELEBRATE and HONOUR heroes--sung and unsung, who brought to light those evil doers' atrocities.

I just find it interesting that belgum has never paid any restitution

The amount of oppression needed for some to advance is insane. How many populations are decimated and tortured for a few to push forward is depressing.

Even the powers who did some of that stuff like British thought he took it too far.

Im from Belgium and I really shame for him, but Belgium destroys things that were of Leopold, because he is so evil. Im so sorry to the people who suffered because of this 😪. Belgium should give them recources, so they could build a good and stable state, because the impact was enermous, for the unforgottable deaths, as for the good land and economy they had and we used. As far as I know the governement helps, but not enough, and it will be never enough because of the horror Leopold created. As a civilian I try to do my best, I had a little company that maked money for Congo. But I’m still SO SORRY that it happened. Sorry, also if its unforgettable… and please remember, a country isn’t bad because of one person.

Never forget evil done no matter how optimistic you are

It is good to talk about how the process of genocide plays out in history. It didn’t just happen in 1933-1945 Germany. It has happened over and over. I’m sure it’s happening somewhere in the world right now. We need to understand it so we can prevent it.
