For some reason I just love the way each of these statements sound: "Rise from your grave." "Power up." "Welcome to your doom."

Played this game so much back in 1988. First game I beat in the arcade. Those were the days when if you were really good at a game it would attract an audience around the machine as you played. Good times.

I love that the credits reveal that the whole thing is a film production, and the cast members all go enjoy a beer together afterwards! We didn't get that in the Genesis port!
  • I used to go down to the arcade on a Saturday and stand there all day playing this, Double Dragon, Golden Axe and Out Run. Great days.

I've always loved how he was polite enough to at least WELCOME the hero to his doom.

I like how the developers put their signature at the end, and showed them celebrating with beer. Must have been fun to be a developer in those days when teams were smaller and gaming wasn't all industrialized and hollywoodized.

They had this game at the front of the grocery store when I was a kid in the late '80s. My mom would hand me several quarters and go take care of her shopping. Such good memories!
  • So the villain starts the game off transforming into an awesome but nightmarish hellbeast that rips its own head off to attack. And at the end of the game turns into a pink rhino-man. Guess by that point he was out of ideas.

follow the story of a Greek warrior who loves steroids, and then he realises he's a furry and has to defeat Voldemort

I played this in a college campus student center while a kid in 1988. Almost 35 years ago! It's a marvel to behold in person.

this game in arcades was badass... the huge screen, blasting speakers. yes, it was harder than it needed to be (the genesis version really tightened up the controls and responsiveness in gameplay mechanic but the graphics and sound took a major hit). but such a thrill to play, as long as you had another quarter in your pocket (and a friend to help!)...

I love how the ant runs away at 5:31, he's just like "ayo my friend just got instantly transfomed into a chocolate stone by this weird ass bear, imma outta this shit"

Just came here to hear two words... “POWER UP.”

I remember when I was in forth grade. My father took me to the arcade every weekend and I played this game. I know this game is not the best in the world but it brings back memories of time I spent with my father.
  • Man I would play this game every morning before school. I remember my best friend would come over and we would play co-op trying to beat this game until we finally conquered it.

For an 80s game this looks very much ahead of its time
  • I beat this game at the movie theater with my brother since it's actually a 2-player game. I think we played it every week or two with $1.00 worth of quarters after watching a movie. And after a few weeks of playing, I was shocked the game was just over. Because I didn't expect it to end so quick. Not realizing that was the final boss.

I love how they actually spent time on the first level transformation cutscene, and then said screw it after that
