DreamWorks Animation is in a rough patch. After the release of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, the studio is continuing to disappoint with Ruby Gillman, Megamind 2, and Kung Fu Panda 4. Not only that, but hundreds of layoffs are happening as we speak. Will DreamWorks be able to recover from this?

  • People seriously need to stop viewing DreamWorks as the second coming because of just one really good movie last year. They're no different to Disney and we all know that more than we want to admit it.
  • Dreamworks is always like this. They have had huge hits and huge misses.
  • I'm starting to think that Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish and Encanto were flukes for being great movies under DreamWorks and Disney Animation Studios respectively.
  • Remaking the old movies, AI, animation companies layoffing people due to lack of contract renewal, money purposes, biggest major box office flops? Hollywood is in a hostlie situation right now...
  • @TomcatCreation
If they eventually shut down like BlueSky, I swear nothing good will be left.
  • Remember when people used to make fun of disney by using some clips from "Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish" and then calling their videos, "disney now🤢💀🤮 vs dreamworks now🤩🗿🤑"? Well, now they have to regret everything they did in 2022-2023.

DreamWorks and audiences: Thank you. Thank you. We are entering into the renaissance era. Universal: I wouldn’t say “renaissance”, more like Under New Management
  • @bsosmoove
Puss in Boots had as all fooled that DreamWorks was in another renaissance era
  • @kingrgames
The fact that after Last Wish, Dreamworks fell off. I was hoping for an uprise rather than firing 40-50% of staff
  • @55alegria
If the whole Megamind fiasco was a showcase of outsourcing animation, we need to cry.
  • @ZeepTheWocky
Knowing their track record, we all saw this coming from a mile away.
  • @minionfan436
Oh god. DreamWorks animation no, don’t shut down on us, you have so much to live for. This is like Disney shutting down Blue Sky Studios all over again
  • I always wished DW made more epic musicals like The Prince of Egypt or fairy tale parodies like Shrek. As a disappointed Disney fan, I kinda need that RN.

If Dreamworks screw up Shrek 5 next year, it will be the last middle finger for them, as seeing Teenage Kraken, Megamind “2” and Kung Fu Panda 4 is worsened on them, they need to step up their game like how they did it with Puss in Boots
  • @Anumikuu
The Wild Robot is dreamwork's last hope....
  • @majesticmo5048
Its so funny how dreamworks made 1 outstanding movie in Puss in Boots and everyone was immediately convinced that they were back, not knowing that dreamworks since shark tale have been extremely hit or miss
  • @Mr.Feather130
I hope the wild robot will save Dreamworks from being suffer from bankruptcy and get shut down by Universal Pictures
