100cc ATV QUAD Battery Drain Fix Vasco Sena Follow 2 Larger Stator Coil Science Experiment 10 27 20

My ATV/Quad now works quite well with LED lights. I haven't had any issues starting it, three voltage regulators say the same results, voltage drops show before the bike misfires, so a science experiment. My older unit had two larger coils and one fits fine with longer screws. It should increase the voltage and wattage a bit.

This would be necessary if you had regular lights. I've seen enough other bikes parked (or trashed) to know they lose power and drain the battery, and if electric start, new batteries which continue to fail. If a kick start, the stator will make enough to power most everything until the battery dies, and each recharge and drain just drains and kills the battery more. This system will suck the living daylights out of a battery.

Also, larger bikes with more accessories use more coils. Having just one can't possibly be much, and one larger one must result in an improvement.

This is for the five wire stator and CDI system. My old wiring harness was four wire and two coils, it could keep up, but my replacement wiring harness is five and lags a lot. Definitely for a no-light bike, but can produce enough to run LED lamps and still charge the battery.

I strongly recommend getting some Interior LED Van Lights to replace the original or after market bulbs if you have upgraded to this smaller coil system because each one of those units is a separate 12 volt unit, remove the wires from one end, and power the other two, it doesn't matter which side you power up (just get the wires correct...). I placed the units I used flat where the bulb used to be on the headlights, and for the tail light they fit strait out for the brake (use two units), and one facing down for the tail light. I have tried to do all this without damaging or breaking any of the parts I have. All the light fixtures were disassembled without damage and could be easily reverted to original bulbs, but I don't want that, I like LED, less power usage, and therefore, interferes less with the ignition.

Hope someone other than myself cares about how to do things, and that anyone of those who do read or see this, can find the information beneficial and useful.

This "project" has cost me a few bucks, but it's a project-- helps me keep my head on straight...

Thank you all,

Vasco Sena
