In Search of Mountain Goats! Hiking Scotchman Peak, Northern Idaho

In this video we do our first big hike since moving to Northern Idaho. Hoping to see the famous mountain goats of Scotchman Peak, we encounter other unexpected animals including a large moose! This is a great hike albeit very steep. Fantastic views from most of the way up and at the peak. There is a great little rock shelter at the top to take a break and get out of the wind-which was really ripping this day. Scotchman Peak is about 60 miles south of Canada as the crow flies.

    Great job, man that was stunning at the top! Also loved that stone shelter at the top. Possible grizzlies definitely gave it a different feel.... Great job

    Wow, great video. Amazing scenery, views. Looks like they build trails just straight up, geez 4k in 4 miles. Moose and weasel very cool also. Grizzly country definitely a little scary. Glad you went for it.

    Ah, I see you've moved from San Diego, too. Nice hike and beautiful area. A bit different than desert hikes. Bear spray a must. Moose are dangerous creatures, too. Have a great time exploring the area!
