What REALLY Happened When Steven Seagal Fought Bruce Lee

A few days ago I found out that Steven Seagal said that he fought Bruce Lee. This all came to my attention when a video came across my Browse page on YouTube from a channel called Bruce Lee Real Fight. This channel is all about Bruce Lee and nothing but Bruce Lee.

So I took a look at the video, and I saw that he was breaking down an interview from 2012 that Steven Seagal did with Michael Schiavello. I had seen clips of the interview before where Seagal trashed Michael Jai White, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Dolph Lundgren as being fake martial artists, so I wasn't too surprised that Steven Seagal might be on there telling some tall tales about how he fought Bruce Lee, and that they were good friends.

Well, I watched the video on Bruce Lee Real Fight channel where he proceeded to expose Seagal's lies. After I finished, I thought -- you know, I should do a video on this, too. So I went and found the original interview, and I'm just going to say that what I learned really surprised me.

  • He didn’t have anything bad to say about Segal, cause he never heard of him.
  • @carldzoga1348
My instructor once told me: The real tough guys never had to tell stories about how tough they were.... OTHER people told those stories!
  • @redsky7527
Steven Seagal is a warrior!  He has been fighting diabetes, the truth, heart disease, honor, morbid obesity, reality and a receding hairline for decades. Unfortunately, he lost every one of those battles. But… he’s definitely buoyant, so at least there’s that.
  • "I think he tried to learn from me." I'm pretty sure Bruce Lee already knew how to eat pizza.
  • @Astronomater
the only chinese Segal ever crushed was on a buffet table.
  • @kevinlee6672
Three things Segal don't know: 1) Martial Art 2) Acting 3) Bruce Lee
  • @JoeR203
You can tell that as soon as the interviewer mentioned James Coburn, Seagal saw an opportunity and that's why he started to smile and said "You know about that." That Seagal interview needs to have a reaction video done by a body language expert.

Don't feel bad that you just learned about the relationship with Seagal and Lee. Seagal only just learned about it in that interview.
  • The only reason why Bruce Lee never had anything bad to say about Steven is because he never met him lmfao
  • @opsec175
Bruce Lee never had anything bad to say about me either. Of course I was born in 1971, so I only ever met him and fought him in my dreams too!
  • @tjakal
You realize that this means? Sensei Seagal is so powerful that not only can he traverse time and space himself, he can bring his entire family with him while doing so. Don't fear the man who's practiced a kick 10000 times ya'll, fear the man who practice Flux-Capacitor Bullshido.
  • "I'm really sorry they're all gone" but since they are I can lie my ass off
  • if bruce was still alive he would tell steven.. "be like water my friend, not cookie dough or pizza or cake, be like water as it wont bloat you up"
  • Another good video I like that you work hard to present things as accurately as possible.
  • Wow, what an impressive career. Bruce lee died in 1973. Steven Seagal would have been 21 years old. So, between the 5 years he graduated from a Los Angeles high school, Steven Seagal moved to Japan to be raised and taught in all sorts of martial arts (Karate Kid, eat your heart out), joined the US Navy (No records of him ever being in the military), Became an elite Navy SEAL (nearly drowned when diving with his friends Gary Goldman and Randy Widner.), worked for the CIA during the Vietnam War (1955-1975), became a police officer (again no records of him ever being a police officer or receiving the P.O.S.T. training he said he has held for 20 years), became a mob boss, and discovered that he was the reincarnation of a 17th century Lama. What a legend. Oh, and in regard to Van Damme, let's talk about how, in 1997, he got called to come outside by Van Damme to settle things and ran both times.
  • @Thejoeb
When Seagal said Bruce Lee had nothing bad to say about him that part was true in a way because Bruce Lee never had anything to say about him at all.
  • Seagal: "Being able to work with him (Bruce Lee) ...and "fight" him... That's the actual quote. So, in a sense, he did say he fought Bruce Lee.
  • You on a journey to call people out!!😂😂😂 I like it! Ha😂😂
