This Toyota Needs More Than A Rescue!

Anyone telling you to pad the cage in the morrvair doesn't understand rollcages. There are two kinds of rollcage padding: One that amounts to a fireproof pool noodle, which will not stop your head from compressing it right down to the metal in a crash - its entire job is to act as fireproof padding on door bars and stuff where you might casually whack body parts into the cage by accident and has no value in a crash, and a super-high-density kind that will stop your head way before it gets to the metal, but is going to break your skull just as bad. Both types are intended to be used in combination with a helmet. This type of padding's job is to prevent the fiberglass helmet shell from breaking on the metal, and the helmet's job is to keep your head from cracking like an egg. If you don't wear a helmet in the vehicle, the safest thing is no cage. If you need a cage just in case, you want it so far away from your head you can't possibly touch it while belted in. Since the Morrvair isn't a racecar, any time you need the cage would be a pretty low energy event like a static rollover, or maybe a tumble down some rocks. In which case you've got plenty of space. It's almost like you kind of almost know what you're doing, at least some of the time.

I don't know how many times you've run out of fuel but my favorite was when you and Lizzie were sitting in the shade next to the Morrvair awaiting rescue.

It never ceases to amaze me the cars people try to take off road.

You don’t need any “book learning”, any more than you need my advice. But even though the manual is dated, I think you will find it entertaining. If it's metal then I call it a skid plate, but if it's plastic I call it a splash guard. Anyway, this is my favorite channel when I'm watching anything other than medical stuff. Kaitlin is really falling into the groove, she's coming across much more naturally than in her earlier videos. Great addition to the team.

I've been in Hurricane for a few days and I'm finally grasping things that really aren't covered in videos. Distance and time are relative. Something might be 30 miles away, but it could be an hour of driving. I'm also learning where not take my rented 4wd Expedition! I mean, I'd like to meet you guys, and ladies, but not because I've done something stupid!
