Somtimes you just cant get that one person to love you and have to focus on the people who are actually there for you.

I like how the brother isn’t malicious towards his sister, and how she isn’t oblivious to his suffering
  • @GMPranav
These siblings aren't raised by their parents, they are raised by each other.
  • @harukaweir4628
I love how this film revolves around the boy finding his self worth without relying on the validation of parents or awards. He discovered his true happiness from doing what he was passionate for, regardless the award he won.

I really like how the dad didn’t change his attitude towards the son, and how he got 2nd place instead of the typical first place, this is much more realistic then the other favourite child stories.
  • @jkuang9548
i really like that at the end, the dad didn’t immediately realize his negligence or change who he is, because that’s just reality. that one fight didn’t magically solve all of his problems, but it did make him feel better about himself.

Love how supportive his sister is. When she was introduced I thought she was gonna be really rude but I was pleasantly surprised.

I like that his medal is a second, not a first like many other films/ short films. To me, I think it means that you don't need to be first place to be proud.

I love how the sister has a strong, supportive bond with her brother, despite having more awards than him. Also, the brother's performance was amazing, from the excellent choreography and lighting, to the bright colors and effects.

The sibling’s relationship honestly gives if zuko and Azula had a healthy relationship and if azula was mentally stable

It’s nice to finally see a ‘favorite child vs neglected child’ story that doesn’t portray the favorite child as oblivious or egocentric. I’m glad the sister was shown as supportive of her brother and is aware of his problems.

This hit hard. I'm nearly 2 years older than my sister. Everything I did I had to work hard for. She did everything with a breeze. Even with my 2 extra years she was nearly as fast as me in running and swimming. Karate the same. She learned the movements much faster. She learned to walk, to speak, to read, etc. all faster. When we got older. I talked to her about it. She answered: I learned everything so fast, because I imitated you.
  • i love how the girl doesn’t try to make him feel worse, but instead encourage him

Can I just say that it’s so refreshing to see a character be happy to win second place. That whole “second place is really just the first loser” mentality is so toxic.
  • The golden child is supportive and caring towards the neglected child The “lesser” child doesn’t magically win first place The father isn’t super proud of him out nowhere and his life doesn’t magically become perfect. This is the most realistic and perfect example of the “Golden Child” story troupe.
  • @SweetflyRachel
It’s a small detail, but I like how Arthur wins second place instead of the typical first place that these kinds of protagonists usually get in their story. It adds a touch of realism, and is also an important reminder that you don’t need to strive to be at the top in order to consider your efforts an achievement.
  • @djchappell1726
AU where Zuko and Azula had a healthy sibling relationship. Everything else aside, this was very beautiful! I am glad that the recorded his son's triumph, though I wish he had paid attention sooner.
  • @someoneunkown
To all the elder siblings that think about how we learn so fast: We learn from you guys
  • @pippinforrest66
This hit home for me. My big brother was the golden child in my abusive household, but he never treated me as lesser if I couldn't live up to impossible standards. We were there for each other and we got through it. I love him so much
