My ex girlfriend used to sing this to me when I was in a hospital bed. I was in for anorexia. I feel like I have a real connection with this song on some level that makes me appreciate it more. We both got bullied for being gay and for some reason I got bullied for my figure, though I was underweight. I was able to get past it, sadly though I lost her to someone else. It’s such a beautiful song.

My boyfriend used to be harshly abused in his teen years by his classmates, he doesn't like me staring at his face because he feels so unsure about himself, so I sent him this song, which compilated so many things I told him before, and other words I just couldn't know how to express to make him feel better with himself. Thank you so much for this song.

A friend made a short but beautiful animation for me with this song, which came at a time I was really feeling shit about myself. The animation was one of the best gifts i ever received. I then went out and found this song. Man I had never cried so hard listening to like that in a long time. But I am in love with this song so fucking much.

I sang this to my friend as she was fighting depression and if I haven’t sang this to her that day, I wouldn’t see her the next morning. This song saved lives. I’ve been looking for this song for 7 months so I could sing it to her as her brother played the guitar for me. I love this song. Today, she is happy and is now married. I was head bridesmaid. I sang this at her reception and it brought tears of happiness to our eyes. A few days ago. I was fighting depression and I was about to do the unthinkable when I got a phone call and when I answered. It was her. Singing the the same song to me as I did to her. I would not be here if she didn’t call. (Apparently, she overheard about my depression and wanted to repay me) we officially made this our special song.

I cried while hearing this because this is so me I mean I'm totally NOT skinny at all and everyone knows that so well that they decide to rub it in and I was about to give up on my self but then three days later I heard this song and I decided not to do you know what... instead I wanted to set a goal and change instead.

I was a fat kid, 13. I didnt want to eat or go to school because i was ashamed. When i found this song, it took awhile, but i cried. I suddenly felt understood. Now, 5 years later, 2 suicide attempts, a cutting addiction, and a self esteem of zero. Somehow, i made it. And im proud. So when i hear this, i remember the emotions. And... Somehow it gives me comfort... I may be wrong about the years, but its been a long time.

Sometimes it's just so hard.. To believe what people say. Complements sound like lies, plastering on a smile to convince them that I believe them. "You say they say you're ugly" This 'They' is me... Everyone tries to tell you you're beautiful, but it takes a lot of convincing someone whose been dead set on believing that they are ugly. And sometimes, more than there should be.. People don't have that support system. So they're stuck with themselves, continuously wrapping chains of hate around their body until eventually, you just can't see 'them' anymore.
