One of the timeless pieces that makes me so proud to have grown up in the 80’s.
  • My father recently passed away back in august, this was his absolute favorite song and for the past couple of months, I couldn’t bring myself to listen to this song without sobbing. He used to sit and play this on his guitar while singing every single lyric with such passion. Happy to say I can finally listen to this song and smile while I reminisce in the memories. I will never go a day without listening to this song now.

Just turned 67 and out on my bicycle this morning when suddenly this pops into my head and now I'm singing somebody's baby as the K's roll on. Life is sure good when the simple things connect.
  • Still remember the magic of slow dancing with my girl to this song at Homecoming in college . She's now been my wife for 38 years. The magic is still there and she looks just as beautiful today as she did that night. Love you baby, always and forever. ❤
  • I was 12 years old - winter 1982 going to the skating rink in NJ. Now 40 years later this song is just as wonderful. It touches your heart when it talks about having that crush on someone special. AH - they don't make music this good anymore. 40 years from now this song will still be playing..................
  • I was 16 in 1982 watching fast times at ridgemont high and fell in love with this song

Im 28 and listen to this amazing jam with my dad at least once a week, sometimes more. Nothing puts a smile on my face when I look at him on the computer at his age listening to this song with a smile on his face, and seeing that he hits nostalgia and is taken back to good times he lived through. He always tells me when we listen to this type of music “you know, you grew up in the wrong generation sissy, these were good times “ and I know he’s right on that statement. Thank you, Jackson Browne, for giving us this great hit.
  • Always loved this song. First heard it on movie fast times at Ridgemont high. Sooo awesome

The Fast Times movie came out the year I graduated from high school; 1982. Then in November 1982 I joined the military. This movie was one of the last movies I saw with my girlfriend of 1.5 years before going off to boot camp. We made some attempts to make a long distance relationship work, but as with all youthful loves, she needed to experience her senior year with homecoming dances and proms. I left for the Persian Gulf (during the Iran/Iraq war) and she went to prom. Whenever I went back home on leave, we would date as if we were still a steady couple, but it just wasn't meant to be. This song sparks that memory of knowing she wasn't going to be my future no matter how much I loved her.

I know it won't count for much, but your songs and many of the others we had back then, are the reason why my kids and grandkids love music - our music. I'm sure these songs will still be popular for their grandkids too. What a wonderful contribution to the world!
  • This hit still sounds amazing in 2020. Love the music of Jackson Browne. This song brings back so many wonderful memories.
