I worked on this film and this is the ending I remember being edited together first. Next thing I know the film is being released with a much different ending. So to all those folks who thought I was crazy when I said there was an "alternate ending" to this movie, here it is! Thanks Tiberius!

I have to say, I like the theatrical ending much better! This original ending was nice -- especially to see Walt married with two boys of his own. But the theatrical ending, with the son of the Sheik, meeting the "son" of the two legendary brothers -- and finding they were both raised with the same stories -- really wrapped up this movie nicely. "They really lived!" Great ending.

This is one of those films that after you finish watching you ask why doesn't more folks know about this wondeful film.

I liked the Shieks grandkids in the short version. "You mean grandpas stories were TRUE?"

One of the most underrated movies of all time. It is cool to see this.

I just realized, some of the guys at the funeral were the teenagers he beat up in the diner.

They had a good long run, they went out with their boots on. You can't beat that kind of life.

This movie is for a lifetime, watching over and over. Recommended for all ages. So much love in it.

It was sold as a comedy, but I have never seen such a long and broad, generation spanning love story in my life. My wife and I were silenced by the depth of love, passion and intensity of love that spread itself over multiple continents, years and, a sensitive vibrant and realistic presentation, to anyone with an eye to see and an ear to hear expressed as a love story for the ages.

This became one of my Dad’s favorite films at the end of his life. When family and friends would come to spend time with him he would make them sit and watch it with him. In three weeks it will be 20yrs since he passed. Thank you for sharing this. I feel him with me and know he would have loved it.

Secondhand Lions is one of my favorite movies, and I liked the ending that was shown. But this ending makes it so much better. Tears and a warm feeling watching this.

Robert Duvall dominates this scene and he is not even in it.

More films like this need to be made our children need to learn what life is about through films like this when parents can't teach them

One of the most heartwarming stories I’ve ever watched in all my 73 years. Definitely one of two movies I’ve watched far more than once.
