Back when there was humor, people could take a joke, and laugh at being criticized! RIP Don, We miss you.

I'm a 25y from Belgium in Europe, born in 1994, and hate those wannabe comedians of today. I love watching Youtube videos of Rodney and Don Rickles. I'm not even an American nor old enough to even witnessed these great guys. I wish I was born in the 60's or something to have witnessed these legends in the flesh. Carson, Dangerfield, Martin, Rickles, Sinatra,... God bless Youtube!!

No one and nothing was off limits and no one was offended. Class all the way through this show! The best of TV is gone but I enjoy taking walk down memory lane.
-
"The Beast of Beverly Hills" would not be allowed on stage nowadays. Shame. THIS is great comedy.
-
And to think all these folks are gone . . . never may they be forgotten.
-
Loved it, especially when don rickles does that bit where he says him and telly could be married in an hour, couldn't stop laughing.
-
It's 4 am. .still can't stop watching this guy...brilliant just brilliant...
-
2019 and im still watching Don, they dont make em like this anymore!
-
Black or white all the laughter is genuine
-
As an Aussie, & knowing the back story, the joke about Sinatra in Palm Springs picking off Aussies was pure GOLD! Rickles was a comedy genius.
-
When I see such awesome talent and fun like this I just think “what happened to us?”
-
The whole lot of them have departed the stage. Never will there be entertainers of this calibre again. Thank goodness for youtube where we can continue to enjoy the sharp wit of these amazing icons of entertainment.
-
You knew you'd made it when Don Rickles made fun of you. He was outrageously funny. He could insult the heck out of anyone and have them laughing about it. God rest you, Don. You were one of the best.
-
Very funny! Nowadays I cannot find any comedians this good! Watch this over and over when feeling down!!
-
Back when no one got offended at rickles brand of insult humor
-
"equal opportunity insulting" - nobody got offended, 'cause everybody was a target - I miss the good ol days, when people could take a joke.

I watched all of these Roasts when new on tv, but this particular Roast remains in my memory more than the others. I was 14, and in 8th grade when this one was shown. Rickles was hilarious, as was his sitcom CPO Sharkey. I watched all the prime time shows made during 1964 and every year afterward. The 1960s-1980s had the best shows of any decade. Most shows after 1990 have reeked, in more ways than one.

Thanks again YouTube being a time machine of Good Times.

This tribute to Telly Savalas, I recall so well.I was in 8th grade when it was shown on TV for the first time, and my best friend and I talked about it at school.
