Foster Brooks was the only person in this whole series of Dean Martin Roasts who consistently destroyed the dais every time he appeared, especially Dean Martin. Always my favourite roaster. Thanks Mr. Brooks.
  • His routine is less than six minutes, there isn't a single vulgar word, and he totally owns the stage. He has Don Rickles about to cry, he's laughing so hard, and the others on stage as well. Pure talent, class, and confidence.

I'm 63. Remember these roasts like it was yesterday. Peace.
  • This is THE funniest skit on YouTube. Dean and Don are both crying, and Foster keeps a straight face. LEGEND. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • Don't you wish the world was like this all over again!!!😂😂😂😂😂

If you get a guy like Don Rickles to literally almost die laughing, you know you're doing something right.

You notice how these guys can rib each other, bring wives and significant others into the joke, and everyone knows it's pure humor. No one is taking a swing at anyone or spewing profanities. It'll never be like that again.

One of the funniest men ever.....I have tears of joy listening to Foster. A first-class gentleman

This and Tim Conway’s elephant story are the two funniest comedy routines ever.
  • Foster Brooks was great....he would do the drunk bit almost at every roast and he always pulled it off without it ever getting old and worn out.....classic old school comedian.
  • He was a truly talented comic. Kept his audience in stitches and tears with laughter, with acts that had no vulgarity, no profanity. Pure, unadulterated talent, the likes of which we haven't seen since. Alas, the new comics base their routines on profanities and denigration. Foster Brooks was truly a class act. Loved that man 😅😂

What is so amazing about Foster Brooks is that he never breaks character. I don't think I have ever seen him crack a smile or laugh while in character doing his bit. When you have a room full of people laughing it's extremely difficult not to laugh at what you just said or did. He was definitely the tops at his game.
  • I remember watching this as a kid. We'd watch these roasts just to watch Foster Brooks. He never disappointed. Even my folks, who hardly ever laughed at anything, were in tears. RIP Foster Brooks. You were a credit to your craft!!
  • I can't tell you how many times I have watched this and I cracked up every time. Miss you Mr. Brooks!

I was blessed with a studio singing career that spanned nearly six decades. My fondest memories we from being part of an 8-voice backup group on the Dean Martin Show for 6 years. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dean. Just a total delight to work for. And I always loved it when Foster Brooks was on.

This particular roast HAS to be one of the best of all time! My gosh, how blessed we were to have all of these folks as a part of our culture back in the day. I miss them all.

"...Incidentally, you're out of Scotch." What a fantastic piece of writing... and delivery.

As a kid, these roasts were always funny! Foster Brooks became a favorite and you can see why - he has the whole panel in stitches! Laughter is catching, and when I see Dean Martin and Don Rickles both cracking up it makes me laugh harder! Thank you Mr. Brooks!
