Archbishop Averky was a righteous shepherd of the 20th century who served as Abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY. He was spiritual son of the great 20th century theologian and holy hierarch, Archbishop Theophan of Poltava, Russia, who himself was a disciple of St. Theophan the Recluse, and therefore is a living link in America to the Faith of Pre-Revolutionary Russia. Archbishop Averky was so esteemed that before his repose, St. John Maximovitch told Fr. Seraphim Rose that if he had any theological questions to ask Archbishop Averky. The honorable Archbishop reposed in 1976 and his relics lie in a small chapel for veneration at Holy Trinity Monastery.

So prophetic! And now, even the ROCOR has become apostate, when it reunited with Moscow in 2007! The only remaining faithful churches since then, is the GOC (Church of Genuine Orthodox Christians). Fortunately, the ROCOR churches that refused to join Moscow were then brought into the GOC fold. LORD HAVE MERCY on us all, in these Last Days!

How grateful i am that this teaching has been given to the world.. and to me, who needs it, as one who is a convert to this Holy Orthodox Church, and who has never before spent any meaningful time on the subject of the antiChrist..Oh, how easy it will be for many to be deceived..oh, how we must pray and watch and be careful to not be tricked.

The way our world is today, it seems totally plausible someone like this would fit right in. The governments seem to be guiding the people towards a direction where we will cry for a savior/messiah. May God guide the church
