Engine Swap And A Recovery

Publicado 2024-07-20
We had to get the new motor swapped into the Scrambler so it can get sold. Then we took the new jeep on its first recovery after getting it setup with a backseat and tools. We got a call for a truck stuck in the mud on the mountain near Beef Basin. Mike and I headed up to get it. While it did rain on us and made it a little more difficult this was at the same time as the floods were hitting Moab. It took some work but we got both our jeep and the truck out and back down the mountain. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

The Ol' Scrambled Scrambler is going down the road, I always liked them and wanted one growing up in the 80s, I ended up buying a used 84' Wagoneer with a select trac transfer case in 89' after graduation, the 4 wheel drive was on vacuum I guess, but the transfer case was old school lever into low, the engine was a 2.4 v-6, always wanted to soop it up but never did. I did install a 4" Rancho lift for wheeling and hunting. it was Cherokee size, solid dark brown, no paneling design down the side like most wagoneers do, Enjoyed the fixes and recoverys. You guys make the day a little more tolerable. ❤❤ 🗽🇺🇸🍁

This recovery was enjoyable to watch. I liked the challenge of the mud. The rigging was excellent.

Waaaay back in the Old days timing was set without instruments. Remove the plug on the #1 cylinder The crank shaft was turned by hand until the piston was almost TDC, loosen the distributor & removing the Cap then we rotate the unit until the points sparked. Button it up and voila, the timing was set. I miss those days, my 1962 Chevy C60, mine had an L6 230 for light duty cargo hauls from the farm

I love this channel. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy MORR, Fabrats, Chad's Fab, Rudy's Channel & Tom Toms now... but, if all of them come out with a new video at the same time, I'm watching a Rory Irish and crew adventure first 🤙👊
