Mother was a true neutral character, neither good nor evil. She had a mission and she fulfilled it. She knew the moral greyness of her actions but trusted that they would produce the results she wanted: a better human Mother. She knew logically that humanity could not be raised by a machine

Absolutely everything in this movie was staged perfectly according to Mother's plans. Everything that daughter sees was planned out from the beginning to teach her a lesson to become the next mother. Mother's goal was to raise daughter to be a perfect mother for the embryos

Mother was in my opinion such an intriguing character in this movie.. Her important role and her relationship with daughter was a lot more complicated than it seemed The line i have fulfilled my purpose is pretty strong and impactful.. this story is filled with responsibility

It's really amazing how a robot treats a human child like it has given birth before. This movie reveals the future.

When you have an Android mom but you wanted an Apple mom instead

What a great movie. Not the first recap I've watched of it. After you've already seen the movie you pick up on some of the more subtle details. Mother teaching Daughter ethics (Her morality to stand up to mother is BECAUSE of mother), the fact that the droids planted the corn to provide safe conditions, mother allowing daughter to fix her when she clearly can herself. Daughters final test started with the mouse.

Everything that happen to mc is what mother plan A robot that take care absolutely every possiblity that she could've face, it's so incredible

I watched this movie months ago. I actually liked it. I believe Mother was programmed by scientist to restart humanity because previous humans cannot be trusted anymore. She was tasked to revive the earth and establish better versions of humans. Humans who think for the better of many and not be selfish. It s a lesson mother tried to teach daughter.

This was an absolute top tier movie and if you've never watched it I definitely would.

Thought I'd mention, the titles completely wrong, the girl finds previous children's remnants in the furnace that the robot attempted to bring up but they failed the test, resulting in their demise by the robot's hands. Therefore isn't exactly first baby born, the robot had been doing it for at least a few centuries before raising this girl who passes the test. I say centuries because the robot (mother) gives the children a test at a certain age and based on their pass rate, as well as seeing multiple piles of bones in the furnace. The test is based on being a compatible mother themselves to continue raising humans themselves, to repopulate earth, hence why outside the vault the film is mainly filmed in, their are robots fixing the ecosystem in preparation for the said new generation of humans. The reasons the robots outside are hunting down any remaining humans is because their theory is that those specific humans are connected to the ones who ruined the planet in the first place. IDK why I wrote all this, Corona got me bored as hell. x)

It turns out that Mother (robot) was bad from the start. Thinking humans were making mistakes, she exterminated them from the face of the Earth using robots called Dozers. Although she's a villian, she does care about Daughter ( a Clone) and raised her, wanting her to give mankind a new beginning.

Can we appreciate how this man just takes time out of his day to watch a movie for video, and for our entertainment, sir, you deserve a Gold Star.

Mother is a terrifying character. She is both Athoritiarin and the source of Love. Two extremes in personality!

A robot raised a human with emotions and ethics, kinda impressive as a movie but scary in reality the future we are heading where machines can replace humans in every aspect.

I don’t understand how it’s implied the woman is a former “daughter”. To me it seemed like Mother allowed the woman to survive and then manipulated events that led the woman to the bunker for “daughter’s” final test. And then kills her at the end because that’s the only reason she was kept alive for and the purpose is fulfilled. Although if she is a former daughter, it is an interesting twist but I don’t think the woman was aware of it herself

I Am Mother is such a good movie! It has everything you want action, drama, adventure, suspense, action! Worth seeing even if you are not a fan of sci-fi movies! Mother, even if she does a bad thing, you can't help but get attached, because she can't trust anyone or her or anyone else!
