Do you have flat feet? If so - not to worry! You’re absolutely not alone!

Flat feet in and of themselves are not necessarily a bad thing. Many people who have flat feet live out their whole lives completely normal with no problems or complications.

But there certainly are those who have flat feet who experience a lot of problems because of them. These problems can include (but certainly aren’t limited to) plantar fasciitis, knee pain (patellar tracking), hip pain, and lower back pain.

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms and you have flat feet, oftentimes addressing this issue can help you to feel better in a hurry.

CAN EXERCISE FIX MY FLAT FEET?
The bottom line is most flat feet are caused by bone and ligament structure in your foot. Unfortunately no amount of exercise will ever change the anatomical structure of your foot.

However what you CAN do is improve the STRENGTH and STABILITY of the muscles that act on the bones of your foot to add support and improve movement mechanics!

And those are exactly the exercises you’re going to get in this video!

BEST HOME EXERCISES FOR FLAT FEET
(Video time stamps included below for your convenience)

(0:00) INTRODUCTION
(1:45) ORTHOTICS
(2:53) FOOT FLEXION
(4:03) TOWEL SCRUNCHES
(4:49) PERONEAL STRETCH
(5:54) RESISTANCE BAND INVERSION
(7:23) STANDING INVERSION
(8:23) STANDING SUPINATION

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO THESE EXERCISES?
Remember - it took your entire lifetime for your feet to get into their current position; it’s going to take some time and effort to make see some changes as you work your way out of flat footedness.

I recommend performing these exercises once daily for 6-8 weeks to see the improvement you’ll make.

  • I’ve been doing these exercises everyday since 23/11/2022 and my arches no longer collapse , I have arches now , i literally clapped and squealed in joy , my ankles are so much stronger, I can see how it has affected all my leg muscles in turn, I always make sure when I practice yoga to do these and I have seen a major difference. Thankyou for this video and I will continue to do these and recommend anyone with flat feet to do this
  • Flat feet, my "Arch Enemy". They really keep me off my toes
  • I have been doing this routine daily for a month now and have some thoughts and comments. The workout takes 15-20 minutes daily and is extremely helpful. I can feel the realignment of my ankle, tibia, knees, femur, hip and all the way to my lower back. It's not a cure but its the best treatment I've ever run across. Its hard for me to believe that I have been spending so much time at the gym for so many years and ignoring my feet the whole time. I'm also impressed with how flexible Dr. Beckstrand's feet are. I watch this video every time I perform this routine and try to mimic how he moves his toes and his foot. I find that toe placement and movement have a big impact. I'm a subscriber and a big fan, thank you so much for putting this out there!

As someone with life long flat feet at 22, with pain and popping in my feet, toes, ankles, knees, hips, and back, I will try to do this routine for 6 weeks everyday as specified, I will give an update if it helps or not
  • @JJO117
My whole life, I didn't know you could fix flat feet. I only discovered about my flat feet years ago, but thought orthodics were the trick. I always felt my flat foot handicapped my running.
  • Took a few days of doing these routines and wearing the inserts. But everything is 90% better. Thank you so much!
  • Thank you!! I recently threw out my back AGAIN and a YouTube recommendation made me realize my fallen arches could be the problem. I’ve always had “severe” pronation. Looking to fix that in 2023!
  • Did you try these exercises? I would love to hear about your experience in a comment below! • As someone who suffers from cerebral palsy. This video has definitely encouraged me to do better for myself and my body to help with my tightness on my affected side. I did these exercises for about a little over a week and I already feel the relief and actual comfort when walking again. And even more so when wearing AFOs most of my life growing up. THIS VIDEO WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!
  • @nishakohli22
Wow I can’t wait to try this!! I was told I have flexible flat feet years ago and I never knew it was reversible. Thank you!!!
  • @amydacosta8484
I really appreciate u taking the time to show me these exercises. I will start them right away and hope to have better arches + ankle pain!
  • Thank you for making this video. You explained it all very well and I know now WHY my physical therapist had me doing similar exercises for my tendinitis! I get more inspired to do the exercises when I know which muscles are needing the attention instead of just doing exercises. Great job!
  • My left foot is flat while my right is not. I have struggled with this for more than 60 years. I just did this routine for the first time and feel immediate relief. Thank you for sharing. I have considered the hyprocure procedure, but could find very little commentary from actual patients. Most of these spoke of a very long recovery. Do you have nay thoughts on this? I understand the company has very tight control on commentary
  • Wow! These exercises are definitely a Bear! Thank you so much. Exactly what I need!
  • @m.j.333
Never thought this could be corrected. Thanks for sharing
  • Looking good from your recent broken foot. Couldn’t tell which foot was broken, which is a good thing. Do you recommend working out? It seems to be the popular trend days. Good video thanks for making it.
