  • This is what America is all about - taking a product (wood, timber) and adding value to it by improving it or making it marketable to others. We are motivated not by greed, but by profit, and by providing goods that other people value and purchase. The more you cut, the more you make. And to keep customers coming, you do your best to keep quality high and prices fair. I'm retired, but would love to be a part of this work team. I think it's just great. BRAVO!!!

Thanks for this video clip, i have been on total isolation for five weeks, your clips as well as others have kept me sane, God Bless, Alistair Scotland.,
  • The LT 15 is a good solid mill for sure and that was a pretty good day on it. As for the big logs just take small slabs and keep turning and wittleing them down. You should be ok as long as you can still clear the logs with your sawhead carriage. This could be your only challenge but if you ever face that problem a great way to solve it is a log that big is a great candidate for quarter sawing so before putting a log to big for your carriage on the mill go ahead and split it and go for quarter saw it will improve the quality of the lumber with less lose of wood than whittling. Just a bit of advice from an old Sawyer that has been in those shoes and seen and done about everything that could get thrown at him. Although my experience was a circle mill I often got logs the blade just couldn't reach through. So this was how I learned to get the best out of tough situation.
  • Really enjoyed this clip. Like the other fella said, "therapeutic" sorta reminds me of the "old Ways" bygone years of DIY living off the land stuff. TY Love It! from Texas
  • I swear I could smell that beautiful red cedar. You had a day that produced some gorgeous lumber!
  • Brings back memories of when I was a boy, helping my Dad at his sawmill. Liked, shared. All my best.

Thank heaven you have this saw mill and can make money with it. Besides making things for your family. thank you.
  • @smitlag
I love your videos. It is great to see these trees live on in useful lumber. Some good music in the background as well.
  • Particularly loved the red cedar. Certainly helped speed things along having three guys there. Got some beautiful boards.
  • Hello. I love your channel, as does my son. As an old man, nearing 60 and having worn hearing aids for about 10 yrs, I get concerned when people take their hearing for granted. I can't tell whether everyone is wearing ear plugs but I hope for their sake, they are. I lost mine from loud vacuums and table saws.Keep up the great work. JC
  • When you said it was a big tree in the previous video I did not envision it being that big!
  • That's some nice looking boards. The cedar is incredible, if only we could learn how to grow square trees we could maximize on board feet!
  • Awesome production for sure. Milled up some large cherry slabs today. Milling is a treasure for sure. Well done.
  • That's a mighty powerful mill for its size. Beautiful grain on that wood. Great team work!

PS I love Craft Work, be it wood, leather, Metal, Stone, or other.. Craftmeship is God Given. Artistic.
  • I’m jealous. That looks like it is so much nicer to cut than the spruce I always get stuck with.
