You're 100% correct. The only thing about the bundle that interests me would be those torpedos... and that's WAY too expensive for just that. They'd said there could be more in the future. I hope so... I hope they aren't a hundred dollars. I hope it will rain beer just once... I hope a lot things.

Rubbish is the word for this pack and they continue to try to give us less and less for our money, it seems every sale is them seeing what they can get away with.

Thank you for the video Spenc! I never really cared much for the Akira styles, nor am I torpedo fan despite the 32c crossfield refit build I have. It’s strange that they made this ship a cruizer, when everything else beforehand were escorts if memory serves. Makes me wonder if one day we’re going to have an nebula style classified as an escort! Lol Not the ship I’m waiting for, I just hope these trends of mediocrity persists. I find it saddening that there haven’t been really that many game-changer shops recently. Tho probably for the best, I rekon

As much as I like the new look of the TMP Akira, I'm passing on this bundle. I know that the ship was made as a compromise between a Torp and Energy damage ship, but it does not lean very well to energy damage builds. Which is what I prefer. Torp builds are great, but I never enjoyed them that much. I do wish that they had just come out with two legendary Akiras for this bundle. One for torps and one for energy weapons. I mean why not? It's compromise in the best way, plus it makes more sense to me, instead of adding a legendary Rommie ship in this bundle.

To be honest personally I don’t care if the legendary Akira is limited to either a torp build or beam build. Besides canonically the Akira class is a torp boat so again I don’t see any problem with it being mainly a torp boat. Also though I’m a bit of a DPS chaser myself, DPS isn’t always a deciding factor in whether or not I get a ship. For me if it’s got a good BO and console layout I will probably pick it up.

We need more TMP Era looking ships in this game.

The trait has potential for one slot on one of the other support ships in a team of 5, depending on how long it takes to get max stacks.(similar to the praetor trait, only need one copy for the entire team) Tachyon net drones will still edge it out because of time to build stacks. -50 kinetic debuff is good otherwise, would pair well with the Saturn consoles -35 in solo play.

I kind of like the Akira . On my fed toon I have replaced my good old prometheus torpedo boat with it. And I pretty much use similar setup I use on my legendary Vorcha. The torpedo is also very interesting. Even in the basic version if timed well it does some nice damage. Thanks for your very helpful videos. You are the best sto youtuber.

They finally make a torp with TMP visuals and they choose the little blue one the Enterprise shoots at the asteroid and NOT the beautifully animated red ones the Klingons fire off at Vger at the beginning of the film. If they do indeed make more of this kind of weapon, I hope they go back to those.

I think it's hilarious that the power creep Cryptic have introduced over the years have rendered Lego Akira's trait obsolete even before releasing. The trait, fighters look extremely meh-tastic. The Maelstrom torps at least look interesting to try. I am not too fond of Full Commander Specialization because it too is a spec that suffers from most of the abilities being useless, and really only coming down to 2 (CF, Artillery). And even then in CF's case, more than likely, something else is going to steal your CF proc as it stands right now.

Thanks for the video, despite the 'bad' news. I was so pumped for the Legendary Akira, but now I'm just bummed. Your use of the word "underwhelmed" is a perfect summary. As an Akira player, if they had taken the fleet T6, made it 5/3 and added Command seating et al I would have happily got the bundle, but the botched half hearted steer to a torp cruiser and its limited seating makes it too unattractive even just for my fluff and barbie tendencies. It would've been great if they had introduced a secondary seating layout mechanism so you could choose to fly as a torp boat or dew ship, akin to additional weapons loadouts, but how that would break the game would be anyone's guess! Oh well... seems like I'll be sticking to my non-legendary Akira.

I think i might be able to make a decent torp build, especially with MAS3 chucked into the mix, The maelstrom Torpedo though I have my reservations about it, for example I go into Advanced content. It's going to be 1 shot of the torp due to it's loading time, it would be great if we could have it as a normal torp but for advanced runs i don't see it replacing any of the 4 good torps that are for kinetic builds.

I am not a collector of all ships just for their treats, so this kinetic debuff treat will be good nuff for my energy build with one torpedo on it, I always use one torpedo for flavor, so this treat might just make it in. By the way, they will HAVE to fix the torpedo point defense console anyway, because purrently it's set to "Any Heavy Escort" which the Legendary Akira is not.
