You are such an inspiration. One can always tell the pure honesty flowing out in each video. It’s very humbling to see. I can just imagine your daughter turning thirty one day and watching this video with such pride.
  • At least you guys are getting your money worth out of that poor camper 😜😜!! The older you get the more thankful you'll be for everyday you see the sun come up and you'll learn to not stress over stupid stuff!! Your dad would be so proud of you!

I can’t thank you enough for your video they bring me great joy to watch you I wish I did this when I was younger You don’t know how much I love your videos
  • Your priorities are straight, thing is yes kitchen, one bath, a functional house, you can have the main room, and a bathroom done and just have the rest insulated and dryawll hung, and fire taped, I'll just start from the beginning, forgive me if its repetitive and you many already know, drywall is cheap compared to the rest of the process, the tapered joints are handy but they don't belong all over, they work best in the feild and not in corners, or along the ridge beam on long angular runs like the vault and the walls it's best to have short tapered joints, so how you hang it is going to dictate how long the process is, I don't recommend speed guns for screwing they zip in too fast and sometimes you have to push on the wall board to compress the insulation I've used a cordless most of my career cause cords are cumbersome and dangerous on stilts and scaffolding, drywall bits are easy to find, joint terminations are paramount in saving time, I like to hang vertical and eliminate as many butt joints as I can, especially for baseboard trim and corners, this way there is no reason to fill a taper close to floor, or ceiling and your corners will come out straight, a tapered joint usually takes 4 coats of mud, 2 fill coats and 2 skim coats, I have been using these techniques foe 30 years and can do mud work faster than most and without fancy tools, forget about mud boxes and corner tools they are not worth dealing with, corner tools are abig waste of time, you can only do one side of a corner at a time anyway, on corners you will have a side with a gap, fill that one first, 2 coats them groom and lightly scrape the edge between coats carefully as to not cut your tape, I only use a 3" flexable knife, a 6" knife and a 12" knife and those do it all, I also bend my knives, one side concave the opposite convex, concave helps heavy fill the other helps skim so you dont drag your edges through the mud, now there is a work time with any mud, hot mud and ready mix, the more you work it the more moisture you will work out of it ans the trick is to get it on wet and as smooth as possible and move on, easier said than done believe me!!!! I'd rather wrestle with 12 foot goods on that vault than mudd butt joints, trust me it's worth the struggle to avoid the time on butt joints, get a lift for a few days or a week or 2, to hang all your lids, ceilings, you cannot pay anyone enough to hold up drywall and can even leave the lift locked over night! Wont recommend that but just saying, come back with questions and please ask, I have the time now to answer.

Good update video. It's clear you put your heart and soul into this project. As for moving in before it's finished, I had a different situation but might be helpful. My wife and I bought a fixer upper and had to move in relatively soon after the purchase. We redid the kids' rooms (new floors, painted walls, curtains, ceiling lights) first, so that when we moved in, they would have the most stability at night when they went to bed. We had working plumbing and HVAC and kitchen appliances though. My wife and I slept in the living room while we redid our bedroom. Then we moved onto the bathrooms and kitchen. It was difficult but it worked. I don't regret it. It was 15 years ago and we have the same house. I'd say go for it but keep the trailer for a while in case you need to move back out temporarily for some reason.God bless.
  • Biata, i loved getting to know you and this journey youre on. That last question was great. You answered my thoughts exactly. I was 11 when my mom passed. All my life it was one milestone after another as i passed 33. I get that. Now for me its i wonder what she would have been like at this point, would my life have been, different and i wish my son would have known her. Yep! I hear you ❤ You're doing great. A strong and determined young lady. 😊

detail work starts once you put up the drywall. putting up the drywall is fun, but polishing it is not if you never done it before. this is also when you start noticing all your little mistakes and it will haunt you for the rest of the year maybe longer.
  • Biata, just when i thought I couldn’t love you any more. Such words of wisdom from such a young lady. Having said that you’ve achieved more than most twice your age. Love and respect from the old man in the UK
  • Hello Biata It's always a pleasure to watch your videos And certainly interresting to see what else you want to do in the future Keep up the good work girl Have FUN and be SAVE
  • @Azztek1
Very good session today. So many questions answered and a breath of fresh air when you tell it like it is not necessarily what we want to hear. I am, as always, blown away with your work ethic.
  • Great video Rockstar! I am happy you’re happy with the choices you have made thus far. Have fun feeding your face today! 😂😂😂😂. See you next week😊
  • @jamescumbo1928
Wonderful video from a beautiful down to earth woman. Thanks Biata
  • Golden Retriever is a very good family dog choice, if you are going to do Pizza Oven, BBQ area, put in a full Dirty Kitchen, it saves so much time from running in and out of the house, turning 30, wow, time does fly, I just turned 70, but I feel like Im 50, age is just a number, once you get some Gyprock sheeting up you might be able to move into the house before Xmas.
  • @timrees2670
Just starting watching. Wonderful just listening to your journey. As always just look after yourself.
  • Love these updates! We’re hoping to move into ours asap—pretty much, as soon as we have power, water/plumbing, and our external walls are insulated. We have a relative who owns a drywall jack, but I’m dreading drywalling our cathedral ceiling.
