  • Your own dad being terrified of you enough to raise a gun towards you would fk anyone up. Poor Gwen.

0:43 Seeing this scene for the first time in theatres, the gunshot followed by the soul crushing intense silence... hit me like a ten ton truck 😭

Ngl, Hailee Steinfeld hasnt let us down yet with her voice acting chops. Between this and Arcane, she has proven to be really, really good which is rare among predominantly on-screen actors.
  • Just hearing her shout "DAD, STOP!" just hurts my heart. Major props to Hailee for her acting.

Since the beginning of the movie, I felt myself wanting to cry. This sequel was way more intense and emotional than the first.

3:15 It's interesting that Miguel's allowing Gwen to join the Spider-Society is an admission that he also doesn't know how to fix the problems he faces, but that him & the Spider-Society will try to find a way regardless. I could not see Miguel making that same statement when Miles comes to see him. Really shows just how certain Miguel has grown over the months since this moment to being unable to admit that maybe his belief in "the canon" isn't the way things in the Spider-Verse should be fixed.

2:01 I'm still in love with the detail of a literal thin blue line appearing behind Gwens dad, basically sealing her fate of being arrested.

She deserved the BIGGEST hug this scene. i love gwen so much in atsv, shes so misunderstood!! I really hope in btsv she gets the happy ending she deserves, or else ill riot!!!!
  • Man that "I don't know how to fix this" line I relate to that too often this movie kept hitting me in the feels💙💙

Man I just am totally taken back by the artists for this scene. The emotions this scene brings with the bleeding paint depicting each emotion they feel in the desperation of the situation. The betrayal, the fear, the anger. It all shows for itself. I love it.

The voice acting here was top notch 👌 amazing scene
  • "I don't know how to fix this..." "Well, join the club" Ooooof! That hits different on a rewatch

I don't know if anyone noticed, but when Gwen receives the watch and sees' the screen boot up. for a flash few frames. You can see Miles' universe ( Earth-1610 ) be one of the first choices that came to gwen.

George Stacy was all she had left. Everything changed when he aimed a gun at his own daughter. Now she lost everything.😢😢😢😢😢
  • Imagine living with the mentality that your own dad didn't hesitate to point a gun at you while yelling "Don't come any closer!"
  • I will always appreciate how they didn't make her dad entirely wrong in the situation. You just found out the person you've been chasing is your own daughter. That's a lot to process. You can even hear in his voice that it pains him to arrest her. This scene breaks my heart, cuz I get both points of view. Sadly, due to neither of them being the best communicators, it ends up looking wrong.

This scene is honestly one of my favorite scenes in the whole film. It’s just feel so real and emotional. Like, you can actually feel how scared Gwen is the whole time! And the dialogue here feels natural, it doesn’t feel forced or anything. And That is very hard to achieve. Also one detail I liked, was that at 1:55, when she says “you’re in this to help people right?” And her dad just doesn’t say anything, and that kinda freaks her out. So she repeats “right?” But you can see with just how she said it, and her expression, that she silence scared her. Her face when she says that as if mentally she’s like, “say something!” It’s a very quick moment, but I think it shows a lot. Hopefully I explained in a way that didn’t sound too weird. I just really like this scene 😅

The way how George Stacy pushed Gwen away is no wonder he had a hard time being a captain and a father it was so hard for him. Gwen also pushed Miles away too even though she had no choice to follow Ohara and broke her friendship in the process. I know it is a rough patch between Gwen and Miles. Gwen better use her heart to guild and bring back loving Miles, who she still cares for.
