Doctors Discover How Migrants Cope During Winter Fleeing Through Europe | Our Life

Chris and Xand van Tulleken - doctors, part-time aid workers and twin brothers - want to see for themselves what conditions are like for migrants fleeing through Europe at the height of winter. They travel to Lesbos in Greece, through the Balkans and on to Berlin and Calais to understand what's being done on a medical and humanitarian level in response to the refugee crisis. Spending time with medics, charities and volunteers in camps and clinics, at border crossings and transit points, they find out what the situation is like on the ground and, wherever possible, lend a hand in the biggest migration crisis of our times.

I'm a doctor in a Hospital in Germany and the Syrian colleague said it out loud- "women shouldn't be doctors, they should stand by the stove in the kitchen"! Really?!! Is this the mentality we need to accept? I know this is just one person and we cannot generalise but it's still unsettling...

God bless the volunteers, but some thing needs to be done to address the root issue. There are so many humanitarian disasters happening in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Europe can’t take in all these people. The humanitarian effort should be focused on establishing peace in their home countries. These people deserve to live with dignity.

Why Europe? Why not rich Gulf states? They share similar cultures, religion and geographic proximity!

To the makers of this documentary: you both are doctors on good incomes. When the welfare system in the"richer" European countries become unsustainable, YOU won't be paying the price for uncontrolled migration. We, the ones that are less well of to begin with, will.

My country Kenya is a poor third world country and yet we are harbouring too many refugees. I do not understand why the gulf states do not accept refugees like the rest of the world.

As a refugee for more than 10 Year's I have realized that it's better to stay at home instead of being humiliated. If we die we die with dignity not being colonized. It's unacceptable what happening on the border of the UK. "East and West Home is the best"
