I use 3M Peltor 27db noise reduction ear muffs. I have learned to sleep with them by arranging my pillows so it falls in between two of them when I sleep on my side. I can't use anything that goes in the ears because they irritating the ear canal and I end up getting an infection after repeated use. I use them a lot during the day as well when there are dogs barking or roosters or whatever.

I agree slow travel is the way to go! Taking the time to explore is so important! A month is minimum more is better!

Hello Dan! Another great interview! Your guest is what I would call a typical New England Italian :). I have Italian relatives in the Boston area as my father was born and raised in an Italian household in Norwood, MA. I think the major difference between East Coast and West Coast Italians is the pace of life. You can hear the "banger" in Rob's voice. He's enthusiastic, energetic, and his energy is go go go! Now, I'd love to see if Rob has a "slow" side. The meditative easy going traveler side. The Go version of Rob is great for traveling and being objective focused. I like his viewpoints to learn new stuff about an area, but not necessarily to live my life. For me the downside of that achievement focused lifestyle is the stress that comes along with it. To compare and contrast, I love your travel style much better as it highlights some healthy lifestyle changes that allow us future expats to let go of stress when we travel. Rob shows me what is possible if you need to suddenly ramp up your make money life that you left back in the USA. Now, don't get me wrong. I like Rob. He reminds me of a lot of what I remember growing up. I could share some stories of growing up Italian-Filipino-American as a kid! Talk about very different cultures! Keep going strong Dan and I look forward to your next adventure!

15:40 Just regular earplugs should do it. Any drugstore will carry them. I use DeWalt foam earplugs b/c they're both comfortable and reasonably effective at muting sounds. Some earplugs are painful after wearing them for a while. Not these ones. I sleep with them when I travel.

HOPE YOU TWO ARE STILL ENJOYING YOURSELVES. I WANT TO GO TO BALI NEXT! I SAW YOUR INTERVIEW WITH THE GENTLEMAN RESIDING THERE...LOOKING FOR THAT VIDEO AS WELL. THE GATED COMMUNITY HE SPOKE OF(VERY, VERY REASONABLE) HE WAS SO DOWN TO EARTH...AND I COULD USE A POINTER/GUIDE!
  • @joylight9167
AOH YOU GUYS ARE IN MEXICO! HAVE FUN DAN! I AM TRYING TO CATCH UP...WAS LOOKING FOR YOUR VIDEO ABOUT 'YOU LEAVING PHILLIPINES FOREVER! I IRONICALLY ' I AM STILL IN THE PHILLIPINES! ENJOY. I HAVE TIME TO CATCH UP!
  • I was planning to retire full-time to Thailand, but with the new foreign income tax enforcement policy, I'll be limiting my time there to no more than 179 days. So now I'll need to slow travel about SEA, possibly spend some time in Central & South America, and a month or three back in the States. That's the new plan... for now. We'll have to see how the plan and I age.

Colombia is wild. One Expats said in 3 years, he was only robbed at gun point once. Another YouTuber, Alina McCloud, had to run to get away from a local with a gun.
  • Hey Dan, I was just wondering: for those of you who spend ~365 days a year outside the U.S., does that cause a problem in countries that require police clearances, or anything like that? I know I heard some countries want the police clearance, and that the clearances only last 2 years, but I can't remember where those countries were, and if it was for retirement visas, tourist visas, or what. Is this actually a concern in some countries, or am I confused?

Damn, I love watching you guys . . . I'd "ALMOST" give my right arm (🚫 just to be clear 😊), as they used to say, to live like you guys. But hell, with "BIDENOMICS," I barely have enough money to afford toilet paper and food to eat . . . LET ALONE LIVE in a More ECONOMICALLY FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT . . . with Weather without -15°F degrees below Zero and a foot of snow! I'm a GLUTTON FOR SELF PUNISHMENT to Watch you guys. BUT, fool that I am, I can't help myself. Thank you for your Videos. 😊👍 Some guys get killed in War on the VERY FIRST DAY of Combat . . . A few go through an ENTIRE WAR without a SINGLE SCRATCH. SOME, have "The Right Stuff" (LUCK) . . . Some Don't! hehehe . . . 😆
  • Great guy with lots of experience. I couldn’t do the celibacy routine even if its just some happy endings😂

“Four years ago it was hard to make a mistake”…4 years ago we were in the middle of Covid…I think he meant, starting in 2016 until mid-2020 the economy was performing the best in US history. Hmmmmmm….why was that?
