Lack of fire history allows Park Fire to burn rapidly, officials say

As the fight to put out the Park Fire continues, officials with Cal Fire and the United States Forest Services say they've made some efforts to treat the land in the area in the past. Due to terrain and private land ownership, there was no stopping this fire.

    The area has a 'lack of fire history' because they put out any fire that started as soon as possible.

    Private land owners weren't asked to be included in burn. Fire started in city of chico park.

    The Federal Government is supposed to be taking care of our parklands and are doing a terrible job of it. The only land they own is the 10 square miles in DC, the Family’s who began arriving long ago inherit all the lands generations after generations, not the Federal government.

    The Dixie fire was almost 1 million acres... Much more than over 100,000.
