Thomas Wayne as Batman is one of the more beloved elements of the Flashpoint storyline, which kicked off the New 52 reboot of DC Comics, as well as the animated adaptation, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, which launched the DCAMU movies. The character was originally expected to appear in the DCEU with The Flash movie, but was instead replaced by Michael Keaton as Batman, along with the inclusion of Supergirl. The character started to decline with his inclusion in Tom King's Batman run. King focused on the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Catwoman and made a controversial ranking of the best Bat-Family fighters, including Nightwing, Red Hood, Cassandra Cain, and many others. Tom King is set to contribute to the creative process in James Gunn's DCU with the new Green Lantern show. The DCU is set to kick off with SUPERMAN. Thomas Wayne's interactions with Bat-Family characters like Batgirl, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne (Robin) show how much the character descended into madness, being an accomplice in the death of Alfred Pennyworth.

Putting Thomas Wayne flashpoint Batman in the main universe was always a bad idea in my opinion.
  • Bringing him back in Tom Kings Run on Batman was the worst thing to have happened

Dc legit had a chance to play with murderhobo grandpa batman landing in prime timeline. And somehow didnt take the easy gold of going with "Thomas decides he gonna kill every villain in Gothams and then spoil his grandkids". Thomas wants to stab joker and then give Damian a hug before escaping into the night. Which could have been so satisfying, like can you imagine Thomas meeting Jason! Their convos and morality! It coulda be sooo good!
  • I always assumed Flashpoint Batman was nowhere close to the fighting skill levels of mainline Batman and had to rely on his smarts and weapons instead, which to me made him seem like a pretty cool underdog version of Batman. So of course King would fuck that up.
  • Thomas: Be happy, Bruce Also Thomas: Teams-up with Bane and other super-villains for the explicit purpose of making Bruce unhappy

DC ruining a version of Batman.... Sucide Squad: Hold my beer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: THEY SHOULD'VE USED MARTHA. Martha Wayne's Joker is SEVERELY underutilized, and putting her in Thomas' place during King's run would've fixed the MAJORITY of the problems involved. Unlike Thomas, her doing all of this would've ABSOLUTELY been in character for her, seeing as she broke even further upon finding out Bruce would become Batman & ALREADY killed her own Alfred to begin with! She even crippled her version of Selina for trying to "replace" Bruce, so she would have FULL reason to go after their relationship here. Not to mention: we NEVER got to see Bruce's reaction to her! All of these times Thomas is brought back, and Martha being his Joker is RARELY brought up, and NEVER around Bruce. Literally EVERYTHING was ripe for a good, gut-wrenching story with Martha being there, all unused to character assassinate Thomas. DC, WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING!? I will say that the times Thomas was used AFTER Kings run were all surprisingly good, with the reborn Flashpoint timeline being GREAT, but the context behind it is so TRASH.
  • DC trying not to do Tim Drake dirty is impossible at this point.
  • Still think theres no damn way that old man of all folk could have gone toe to toe with Cassandra Cain of all people.

Here's my top 10 best fighters in the batfamily: 1. Alfred 2. Alfred 3. Alfred 4. Alfred 5. Alfred 6. Alfred 7. Alfred 8. Alfred 9. Alfred 10. The batcow
  • They could’ve put Brendon Routh, Stephen Amell, Christian Bale, and even freakin Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern in the movie and I will still not watch The Flash with Ezra Miller.
  • Finally someone said it. I've been screaming into the void about thomas wayne being ruined by DC for a lone time now. It would have so nice if we have seen him reconnect with his son in a meaningful manner, maybe become a member of the bat family but he has his own city to deal with crime or just have an entire spin of series of him bonding with Bruce and all the other bat family members. A heart to heart with alfred could be poignant since alfred pretty much raised Bruce and the rest of the bat family like Tim, Dick, Jason and Damien. It would also be better if DC didn't kill him of and maybe have him around for a long enough time until he dies of old age. Sadly we don't live in a perfect society.

Bro is spitting facts for longest time. I was like damn the character assassination of Thomas Wayne Batman has to be studied.
  • @froger9973
Thomas was so OP in that story for no reason 😭🙏
  • @dc7981
Tommy boy should have never came back and him stealing Banes spotlight and taking all the credit just made it worse. It’s bad enough that DC is trying to replace Bane with Deathstroke but now Batman’s own dad is stealing his cred too
  • @amaze2173
Tom Kings full of shit with most of his writing but that ranking was unreal, here’s the real one: Bruce Cassandra Dick Jason Tim Damian Kate Helena Duke Stephanie
  • M Enterprises be like "Another one" everytime he uses "ruined", "worse/worst", "hates", "problem" in the miniature.
  • @AJ-xc4qe
I never read the comics but Flashpoint is a storyline that would be way more satisfying had they done this in Chapter 3 or something of the DCEU, not as a Flash movie, but as a Justice League movie with all of the same actors as the members. And I wouldn’t have minded Michael Keaton’s Batman in The Flash movie IF THEY HADN’T FILMED THE WAYNE MURDER FOR THE 800TH TIME!!!!!

I felt like the moment Thomas Wayne running into the white void erasing the flashpoint timeline in the story The Button was a good ending to Thomas and the flashpoint timeline as a whole.
