Tip: instead, have your shotgun as q. You're gonna be pulling it out a lot, so might as well make it comfortable. Switch your pickaxe to something in a low priority spot, you don't really need quick access to it. I have mine as scroll wheel up because it's easy to pull out when you need it. Just switch the shotgun bind to something easier to get to.

I suggest that you maybe use the scroll to switch between inventory slots bc it is faster

I'd recommend setting inventory to tab
Also you can use scroll wheel to switch weapons -
