Throughout the past 3 years, we've dealt with so much social and societal conflict, whether it was on the streets during the 2020 riots, or in the very palm of your hands through your fingertips on your phone. Recently, the internet and social media has been in such a fragile sensitive state due to conflict, dishonesty, cancel culture and what's okay or not okay to say or do (for better and for worse), more awful toxic people truly showing themselves for who they really are, the list just goes on, and digital social conflict and issues are at an all time high this year, especially recently in some communities, so I decided to cover this song to outlet how I feel in the middle of all of this. GatoPaint originally released this song all the way back in 2019, and it's chilling just how much it's aged well throughout the years, so good on him for writing such an impactful song like this. Big thanks to him for giving me access to the instrumental for this cover (NO I WILL NOT BE GIVING IT OUT, THAT'S HIS CHOICE) and helping make this cover possible because of it. I would've remade the instrumental myself, but as of right now, I wouldn't be able to give this cover full justice to the cinematic effects this song has. This is such an appropriate song for the times we live in. I grew up believing the world was going to fall apart, anyway. I grew up believing what the Bible says(I am in no way shape or form, trying to force my beliefs on anyone, whether here or elsewhere, at anytime. Just merely sharing what I believe. If it resonates with anyone, that's between them and God.) about how during the end times, it will get really really bad, in regards to all the violence, hatred, and toxicity. The Bible also tells us how, as the world falls into all this chaos, to not lose hope because the Rapture is drawing closer and closer. (I'll be honest, Sammy, I was watching an anti-nightcore version of your original song "In the Shadows", and the person that created it, recommended that I check out the original. After watching the original song, and reading the description....I felt my heart drawn to you and your story, and afterward I typed that comment where I said I'd be praying for your continued success. After I hit send, I started bawling like a baby, praying for you, that God would show you how much He loves you, and how much He wants you to accept Salvation. Then, when the Rapture happens, you'll be in Heaven where I can personally bawl my eyes out, as I give you the biggest hug ever...❤) Thank you for reading this.
