Something I do not see many people mention is Toothless' understanding of apologies. He his tormenting Astrid when Hiccup is trying to get her to like them, but the moment she appolgizes for beating up on Hiccup, he levels out and gives them a nice flight. And at the end, he dose not show Stoic that he saved Hiccup until Stoic apologizes for everything he put Hiccup through. And I love that about him.

There are a bunch of television seasons bridging the gap between the 1st and 2nd movies: even if you do not react to them, they are worth watching on your own time.
  • I like the fact that Stoic is apologizing and saying being proud of Hiccup to be his son before Hiccup fights the alpha dragon, its more meaningful than saying those after the war.

The first flight scene is one of the best of any movie ever. I still get chills.

The first bond makes me cry. Every. Single. Time. Without fail, no matter what context, what reactor, whatever setting, whatever mood, it always illicits tears

Nearly every single time I see someone react to this movie, they always skip one of the coolest parts where Hiccup reads the line “The Unholy offspring of lightning and death itself” 😂😂😂
  • @Ms_Ria
How to train your dragon and Kung fu panda are quite possibly the best animated trilogies ever made. Especially the first 2 of each.
  • Super enjoyable reaction as usual. Not sure if you noticed but there at the end Hiccup's wound mimics the one he inflicted on Toothless.
  • @slverskull
One of my favorite Stoic moments is right after yelling at Hiccup he stumbles a little wondering if what he's doing is really right
  • @RoxxSerm
That moment when he throws the manual and goes by instinct, and the theme song kicks in... Bro, it's just too much. Feels!

i probably watch this trilogy a million times and never get bored, growing up with this franchise is the best thing ive ever done in my life.
  • @aloverspoetry
I love Stoic! He had a rough start to be likeable but throughout the series and the films he really became one of my favorites.
  • @Azameanie
Hiccup got tossed when he said, “I did it”. One of the major themes in this is the concept of humility. Notice the moments when Toothless’ attitude changes toward the different people.
  • One of my favorite trilogy ever. If you wanna know the names of the dragons Astrid and the other befriended here they are: Astrid's dragon is Stormfly (Deadly Nadder), Snotlout's dragon is Hookfang (Monstrous Nightmare), Fishlegs dragon is Meatlug (Gronkle), Ruffnut and Tuffnut's dragon is Barf and Belch (Hideous Zippleback), there dragon names are not told in this movie.

It always amazes me that Toothless' will to live wasnt strong enough to get himself out of that place but his love for Hiccups was, because he came as soon as he heared Hiccups scream dispite being in that hole for probably weeks already without leaving
  • one of my favorite movie trilogies of all time! the sequels don’t disappoint I hope you watch those too
  • The Night Fury is fast stealthy and instead of fire they make his breath blue to represent Plasma instead.
  • I was deep-diving into the comment section and since I couldn’t find this bit of information I will comment it myself The dragons in the movie were mainly inspired by someone’s cat. The animals Toothless was based on were cats, dogs, and horses. Stormfly was based off a parrot. And for some reason, the other dragons are just simply based off of dragons (Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just saying that’s all Google told me about the rest of them) There are 2 more specific dragons but I won’t tell you because this the comment section for the first movie. I hope you enjoyed reading this 😃 Tchau Tchau 👋
  • The tail fin basically acts as a rudder on a plane it helps him navigate better, I'm pretty sure he can still glide but he'd have to start out at a high point and jump and glide
  • Something i love about the httyd series is the use of body language. My favorite point is when Stoic and Hiccup have their fight. When Stoic leaves the room, he visibly staggers back and looks shocked, he didn't actually want to say that to Hiccup, but his emotions got the best of him. You can see the conflict on his face in that moment.
