Vinod Ji. You have removed the black curtain before our eyes. We couldn’t exactly understand the “glass box” aphorism which was initially coined by LoP and highlighted again by you. We as masses watching the redacted version brought to us by Sansad TV cannot assuage the real scenario. What a tragedy those who cry wolf about Constitutional massacre anniversary of 1975 have been persistently throttling the voice of Democracy since 2014. Hopefully strong Opposition will play their stellar role for which people have voted them. “Long Live our Constitution “

Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. The higher the degree of transparency, the higher the level of good governance will be. the functions and obligations of the positions they hold. Decision-makers in the government, the private sector and civil society organisations shall be accountable to the public, as well as to institutional stakeholders. By making chargesheets publicly available, the general public can have access to the evidence and allegations against the accused. This promotes transparency and accountability in the legal process, as the general public can scrutinize the charges and hold the authorities responsible for their actions. Transparency is the core principle of good governance. It assures that corruption is minimised, the views of minorities are taken into account and that the voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard in decision-making and implementation. Transparency means that decisions taken and their enforcement are done in a manner that follows rules and regulations. It also means that information is freely available and directly accessible to those who will be affected by such decisions and their enforcement. Transparency ensures that enough information is provided and that it is provided in easily understandable forms and media.

Despite several protests and requests over the last four years, the demand for full parliamentary access for journalists has yet to be met. The traditional print media and television media are largely family-owned and often partake in self-censorship, primarily due to political ties between the owner and the establishment. Media ensures citizens make responsible, informed choices rather than acting out of ignorance or misinformation. Second, information serves a “checking function” by ensuring that elected representatives uphold their oaths of office and carry out the wishes of those who elected them. Media has a strong social and cultural impact on society, thus it should operate within the society and for the society and reflect the positive image of the society.

Checks and balances manifest through various procedures set in place to reduce errors, prevent improper functioning, and decrease the risk of centralization of power. Various provisions under the Indian Constitution provide for checks and balances in the governance framework of the Indian State.

Freedom of the press or media refers to the rights given by the Constitution of India under the freedom and expression of speech in Article 19(1)(a). It encourages independent journalism and promotes democracy by letting the people voice their opinions for or against the government's actions. Freedom of the press or freedom of the media is the fundamental principle that communication and expression through various media, including printed and electronic media, especially published materials, should be considered a right to be exercised freely.
