It's possible that the Focus Point rework may just reduce the need for that feat tax that allows you to regain multiple Focus Points with the Refocus activity.

The writeups on the Paizo website mention the ancestry breakdown - Core gets Human, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Leshy, and Orc. They’re also making Versatile Heritages part of the Core, though no word if Half-Elf/-Orc are now Versatile. Core 2 will have Catfolk, Gnoll (though the name’s presumably changing due to OGL breakaway), Hobgoblin, Kobold, Lizardfolk, Ratfolk, and Tengu.

I think they are making witch a 5e style prepared caster, and that's why they are putting it in player core 1, so that option is available from the "beginning".

I think alignment-restricted classes is not good. But I do think alignment as a character role-play framing is very good. It really helps to force people to play someone different than themselves.

The weapons allowed for clerics already existed in AD&D. It may have been stipulated for D&D BECMI and D&D 0e as well, from the very beginning. Because metal interferes with magic; probably based on novels or folklore.

Classes in Core 2 do need the extra development time. Alchemist rework, Barbarian needs to be affected by the Dragon change, Champion needs to change from the alignment change, etc

Hope all is well with you. Are you going to post new content on this channel?
  • I think Mona is ruining Pathfinder in this obsession to eliminate everything that could be seen as related to the OGL.

Crazy how Paizo just did some common sense changes and offering transparency and even telling people not to buy in most cases. Contrasted with everything awful WotC was doing this year

I’m new to pathfinder, haven’t played a game yet, but I got the core rule book-it’s a tough read, kind of overwhelming. I like the ideas of I’ve heard and all-but diving in isn’t easy. So, I’ll proabably look to join a game at some point, but I’ll be happy to have a “player” book with only that dedicated information.
