Not a finer auto technician on YouTube. Not only a brilliant diagnostician, but impeccable presentation and explanation! Simply the best!

Outstanding job, Dan. Not only are your superior diagnostic skills apparent working on this vehicle but also your superb teaching skills as you took us along so we can learn. Your videos are fantastic.

my guess is there is a lnown issue with the original SAM module which is why it has been superceded and as Mercedes are expecting a high level of failure they lower the price expecting to move a higher volume nice work as always Dan

Good techs like Dan seem to be more rare everyday. Good work Dan!

I very much look forward to a video on the rest of the issues like the cooling system being near-empty and dealing with all the other DTCs. Luckily, this car does not look like totally torn apart and tinkered with by previous workshops.
  • Dan makes it sound easy without even a single drop of drama. That's just amazing.
  • It is always a pleasure follow Dan in his journey to troubleshoot cars using profound knowledge and logic. A true expert that makes every work seem "simple".

Outstanding video! On the original module I would trace the red/pink wire from the connector to the IC that controls it. possibly a solid state relay or a mosfet. Next check datasheet, find input and probe the input with a scope. Pretty much the same fault finding technique but on a board level. For the cost of the replacement module it may not be worth it but it gives a closure and satisfies curiosity 😅

honestly not the trickiest troubleshooting I have seen you do, strange that no other shop could fix it, the diagnose tool really pointed you in the right direction and it is not the first time there is a no crank no start because of circuit 15 relay has no ground due to a faulty computer. The backup battery however was new to me, great job and thanks for sharing

All I need in my life is a little whiskey and a DD video. You’re the best, Dan!!

For me as a diagnostic technician at MB, it is incomprehensible that so many workshops had problems finding the faults. If, as Dan did, you look at the important error codes and ignore the consequential errors, then you can find and repair the error quite quickly. The workshops previously involved did not show themselves to be competent... I can understand the frustration of vehicle owners.
  • You make diagnosing complex faults seem so simple as your logical conclusions are so sensible and meaningful. Top marks to you. I think your technical skills amazing and you are the best!
  • There is no better teacher for this stuff than our Dan. Thank you, Dan. I can't wait for next videos! ❤

We need people of your talent in Singapore! That will raise the standard of diagnosting and repairs significantly!
  • @bertsmith7940
Be good to see a video of the next steps with the car and the finished car on the road
  • Great diagnosis and repair, Dan! Wow a 2019 that turned into a beached whale because of a bad module? Not very reliable! Can't believe the new module didn't cost 1000 dollars haha :)

As always Dan, you make it look easy to diagnose the problems. Thank you so much for sharing and looking forward to seeing part 2 of the Mercedes. 👍👍

Just happened to pass by your channel and I was impressed by how you lay information and simplify things. Your behavior, the way of explaining things and just the clean execution (and I mean clean in every aspect) demonstrates that you're very knowledgeable and a master of your craft. God bless you and I wish you the best.
