New music from C418 has strangely been absent from new versions of Minecraft. Why is this the case? In this video, I will be explaining the history of Minecraft's soundtrack and what happened to C418.

C418 might need to bring his cat to the vet

The fact that an entire generation could recognize these songs instantly is just incredible.

i played minecraft at my grandmother's in 2013. the music would play throughout her house for multiple hours every day. she still tells me almost 10 years later that it's one of her fondest memories of us at the house, and asked who the composer was because she liked it.

Man. He never made music before yet he has made tracks that I will never forget and always stir up intense nostalgia of my younger days and friends.

let it sink in that C418 has probably made some of the most listened-to music ever, of all time

That man forged a entire community with his music. He will be remembered as the first and greatest music composer for Minecraft.
  • When the song came on at 2:30 i got teary eyed... these are the moments that made Minecraft Minecraft! The nostalgic feelings, all that came from C418! Without this music, it would never be the same!
  • His music has a magic to it. So many people from many paths of life have played minecraft and heard those songs, so they mean something different to everybody. For me, they're emotional because those melodies remind me of some of the best times of my life. I can't thank minecraft and C418 enough for that.
  • I honestly believe that Minecraft wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable without C418's music

I remember when Steve was added to Smash Bros, and I was really upset that none of C418's music made the cut. Then someone replied to one of my many pessimistic tweets saying he did not want his music to end up in the clutches of Nintendo's Copyright ID data base, so Smash Bros' lack of Iconic Minecraft Music made a whole lot more sense.
  • Its unfortunate that c418 is not with Minecraft anymore. He's undisputably a genius, and I can confidently say that his music, is Minecraft. Nobody can do it like him.
  • C418's music always felt melancholy, but in a good way. It brings back memories of playing with friends who have been offline for years. It's beautiful in its simplicity.
  • I'm glad that he (apparently) stood up for himself. He's still as great a composer as he was before, and his works still exist.

I still listen just to the soundtracks he made to this day. And I love what he did. Minecraft would be different without C418.

As long as C418’s music is still in the game I’m completely fine with it

Personally, I'm not a fan of the new soundtracks. But that could be due to the emotions that come to surface when I hear those classic MC soundtracks.. So bittersweet.
  • Well guess what, C418 is getting to be a part of Billboard's music awards for Volume Alpha. I'm very happy to see that he finally gets an award for one of the greatest soundtracks of all time!
  • C418's overall style has a charm that will never be replaced. Kind of random, but volume beta is actually my favorite album of all time.
  • Whenever I hear a song from C418, I feel a weird emotion. I am not sad, not happy, not chill, not angry.. just.. nothing.. like pure nostalgia.
  • C418's Minecraft music is one of the few playlists where I can listen to it at anytime and it brings me back to a calm, and content state of being. It sounds good, it feels good, and makes for some lovely background ambience
