  • Make the BBC a subscription service and let people choose if they wish to use any bbc channels instead of forcing people.
  • Glue holding our country together. I just spat my drink out when that was said. Haven't paid my tv licence for years.
  • @emmanuelwatson7893
If the BBC is the 'glue that holds Britain together', then why are so many people switching to Amazon Prime, Neflix, Disney Plus, Sky TV, and a boat-load of other packages where you don't require a TV licence, and can watch nearly 90% of the stuff you would get from regular TV, plus a bunch of other stuff. - That doesn't sound like very good glue to me.

Why can't i watch ITV news if i don't pay for a TV license or any other chanel. I don't watch the BBC so why should the BBC have control over all channels
  • @Tom_murray89
In my opinion the license fee needs to be axed and a subscription model brought in
  • @millwallholdings
"Honest News" 🤣🤣🤣😂😂 me thinks old John has signs of Dementia
  • @nonaknight9491
OK Suzanna if you think the BBC is worth it then let’s have a subscription only. YOU & many others can choose to pay. I wouldn’t and that would be fair. We need truthful news

Haven't watched TV since I cancelled my TV licence in March 2023, not missed at all. Changed my TV habits to not relying on the TV being there, spending more time doing other things such as learning to play the guitar more, watching interesting facts, news, stories on You Tube, Listening more to classical music and relaxing, and of course Amazon, Netflix etc. There is also free streaming sites for free TV. So I won't be paying the licence in the near future.

John dipped his bread in the rich gravy of BBC expenses.

It’s ridiculous. I totally agree with Lynn. Like she said, if ppl think it’s worth it, and think it’s so great, they’ll pay for a subscription, it’s about choosing. The BBC system is like an authoritarian channel. It’s the 21st century, get in the program. Pun intended.
  • @alanwhitham4
Is the BBC worth the money ? The question is irrelevant ! It's about the freedom to choose .
  • @julielawlor5482
He is talking utter bull Richard is right go subscription service
  • @hariowen3840
Let those who agree with the licence fee split the total sum amount collected between themselves. (And they also have a 'state broadcaster' which can be used as a government propaganda machine at will by the party in power.)
  • @TobyLeRone-fu5eg
John sweeney just said the bbc gives you "honest news" ? 🤔😳🤪😜🤪😜😂🤣😂🇬🇧🇮🇱
  • @iggysfriend4431
If the BBC is so wonderful they need to go behind a pay wall. Then, the market will show the BBC exactly what it's worth. Paying the BBC licence fee is like having to pay for a bus ticket every time I drive my car.

The bbc is wrong for this new modern country it should be dissolved, would you pay sainsbury a levy to let you shop at tesco, I think not
  • @binagarten4667
Nearly every country has abolished this unfair levy. Unjust unfair and go towards paying the likes of Ried, Claire Balding, Nagga Muchetty, Antia Rani, Linekar, Fiona Bruce. Anti semetic, Anti Hindu, Anti Sikh.
