Elvwis III (240W) Not produing any electricity during strong winds...

Published 2019-11-15
With the recommended, boost mppt controller, from the company producing this windmill, Dr. Olaf Pinkhaus IDEEN-SCHMIEDE. I get no power production during strong winds... I have connected the watt meter between my battery bank and this charge controller. Since the producer has disabled comments on his windmill videos, if you have one of these windmill's, please comment here. Look at bottom right corner of the meter, you can clearly see 0.0W produced... Can this be right? Would you pay almost 400€ for a windmill workings so bad? The system works in any case, you can see a watt peak of 29 watts and an energy production of 181 Wh. Unfortunately, there is no information about the wind speed and production time. 240 Watt is the maximum mechanical rotor power at 20 m/s, this is not the standard output power... You have a 24 volt system that charges with the boost charge controller only from 15 volts input voltage. We have recommended a 12 volt setup with battery balancer, since the charging threshold with this charge regulator is already at 9 volts. In relation to a 12 Volt setup the turbine requires a 65% higher rotation and wind speed to charge the 24 volt system, so all the usual wind speeds remain unused.

That thing looks like a toy. How many watts did they claim it would provide?

I lost my refund case for this Pinkhouse windmill at Paypal, even with video evidence so be very carefull. I only got 100 Euro selling it used, but I warned the buyer first that this was risky. I do not want to fool anyone like Dr. Pinkhouse does. Ebay told me to go to the police, but I was to occupied with other things to have energy for that fight. I lost 400 Euro on this.

Here is the link for the windmill I replaced this useless windmill with, it works to spesification. I have messured 380W in strong winds and it generates electrcity at very low wind speeds. Perfect for my campervan. It only cost 200 Euro including shipping.. They sell it as 400W and it actually produces this . It is way less noisy and looks much more estetic. www.aliexpress.com/item/33003307766.html
