IHTAI: A Ragdoll With an Excellent Sense of Balance

This recording was part of an experiment running the ragdoll demo with varying numbers of pattern matchers. The IHTAI agent was only assigned 500 pattern matchers. Previous incarnations were assigned between 5-20 thousand.

The limited number of pattern matchers actually resulted in a dramatically increased ability to assume stable upright positions.

The goal of this demo is for a ragdoll controlled by an IHTAI agent to start with random muscle movement signals, and learn to keep itself upright as much as possible. The agent is given a drive to remain upright, which means keeping its pelvis facing upwards between -PI/8 and +PI/8. Learning is completely unsupervised and occurs in realtime.
