For anyone looking for the roms proper names, Vanishing Racer is actually Banishing Racer, and Crane is Crayon Shin-chan

Interesting! My recommendations: Amazing Penguin - An action game which takes place on a grid in which the player, who takes control of a penguin, must walk across the lines collecting dots and circles with minus symbols on them. If all lines around a square are cleared, it gets filled out and all enemies which happen to stand on one of the lines are killed (but respawn shortly after). Battle Bull - An action game that primarily consists of navigating a maze and pushing movable blocks into other robots in order to crush them. The player earns points and money for destroying enemy robots in a timely fashion. Between rounds money can be used to purchase upgrades to your robot to increase its maneuverability, add weapons, or provide extra lives. Cosmo Tank - A shoot-'em-up which takes place across a handful of worlds where the player moves around in a top-down view and defeats the local wildlife in search of dungeons. Once inside, view switches to first-person and the player must explore the mazelike tunnels square by square, manually aiming a cannon used to dispatch monsters as they are encountered and circle around the tank. When outside a dungeon, the player can opt to fly to a different world; when doing this, the Cosmo Tank transforms into a starfighter and the player must navigate a short vertical shooting stage to make it to the next world. Dexterity - A puzzle game in which the goal is to flip over all of the tiles on the field while avoiding enemies, which can also flip the tiles. Enemies that are on tiles that have been flipped over become immobilized and can be thrown at other enemies. They can also be pushed into the walls using blocks, which contains items. Fighting Simulator: 2-in-1 Flying Warriors - An action game which features side scrolling portions where the player can use kung fu and mystic spells to dispose of enemies. Each enemy the player defeats gives them experience points which will eventually increase their life points. There are also some one on one duels during fighting tournaments that involve hitting a target on the opponents body while defending the target on the player's own body. Ghostbusters II - An action game in which the objective of each level is to capture a predefined number of ghosts before the timer expires. The first ghostbuster selected is controlled by the player directly and carries a proton pack, while the second ghostbuster follows the first and carries a ghost trap. While exploring the levels, any of the two remaining ghostbusters (as well as the ghostbusters' accountant) not currently being used will occasionally show up, and touching them will provide power-ups, including vacuum guns, instant traps, and invulnerability. Go! Go! Tank - An action game in which the player must guide a tank to the end of each stage by arranging boxes with a hook attached to the bottom of the player's plane, as well as by shooting enemy planes that threaten it. The tank will roll forward on its own and climb up any wall that is only a single block high -- anything taller and it will crash into it and turn around while taking damage. Great Greed - A role-playing game in which the battle system does not use any menus, switching all commands to simple button pushes. A being attack, B for dodge, Start will run and the D-Pad is shortcuts to certain spells. The combat is also live, in the sense that if you take too long to complete your turn, your opponent will attack again. Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues - A platformer in which the goal in each level is to collect a number of magnetic ID cards which open up the level exit. Many different species of dinosaur stand in the player's way: walking, flying and even the swimming kind. For defense, the player has access to a gun and hand grenades, both with unlimited ammunition, as well as a harpoon when going for a swim. Lock 'n' Chase - An action game in which the player plays a thief who has to collect gold coins and avoid the police officers. Each bank is a different maze containing numerous doors which can be used to block the police. Occasionally a bonus item will appear in the maze, such as a cash bag that temporary stuns all police officers, and a diamond which makes the player temporary invincible. Mr. Nutz - A platformer in which he player plays as a squirrel who must defeat the evil Yeti before he freezes the entire world. This will have the player explore many areas such as a forest, a witch's cottage, a volcano, the clouds, and a circus. The game features the ability to kill enemies either by jumping on them or using the player's tail, as well as some puzzles involving object manipulation. Ninja Boy 2 - A role-playing game in which the player controls a young Kung-Fu hero and use the hero's punch and kick abilities to defeat enemies. Players can also find weapons and other items scattered across the game to use against the enemy hordes. After defeating a set number of enemies, the player is allowed to run into an exit and proceed to the next level. Ninja Taro - An action-adventure game in which players need to explore the world map, do quests for the people who live in the towns, and hunt inside caves to destroy major enemies. Players can either use samurai swords or shurikens; shurikens have a shorter range and are weaker than swords. However, both swords and shurikens can be powered up by the treasure chests located throughout the game. Panel Action Bingo - A board game in which the goal is to compete with a cat to navigate and claim squares on a Bingo card, with either numbers or letters pseudorandomly arranged in 1 to 25 or A to Z, respectively. The squares are claimed by moving to the next square of numerical/alphabetical order and pressing the A button, and while the card is shared by both the cat and bird, the cat and bird cannot occupy the same square. Rolan's Curse 2 - A role-playing game in which the player starts out with one character, but can later join forces with up to seven more characters, which each have a unique skill. Only three of the seven characters can join the party at once, thus some characters must be left behind. Character stats are not raised by defeating enemies, but rather by finding treasure chests that contain power-up points. Snow Brothers - A platformer where the player must defeat all enemies on each level by using snow. When lots of snow is thrown at an enemy, it becomes covered in a flurry and unable to move, and can be rolled into giant snowballs and pushed or kicked into other enemies. The enemy filled snowballs are a much stronger weapon then the regular handful of snow and are the only effective weapon the player has against the bosses. Solomon's Club - A puzzle game in which the player must retrieve keys in order to open up the exit. The player can create or remove blocks to their left and right, and can use these blocks as platforms to climb onto, as well as for blocking enemies or fire balls. Coins collected can be used to buy items such as fire balls or hammers. Tail 'Gator - A platformer in which the player navigates small rooms to find treasure chests with keys in them so that Charly the alligator can progress through each area. Each room, filled with quickly respawning enemies and tricky landscapes, is about 2-3 screens wide and is one of about half a dozen that compromise each of the five areas. Tetris Blast - A puzzle game in which lines of blocks contain bombs. The more the player links the bombs when creating lines of blocks, the more of the field that's cleared as the bombs explode. Word Zap - A puzzle game in which the player must align letters in order to make proper English words. The player can choose between 3, 4, or 5 letter words, allow or disallow plural forms of words, and even choose the level of vocabulary used in the game. "WordHai" mode permits the player to create words from a preset number of tiles.

    I don't consider 1989 to be the "Mid-80's"

To me, Quarth is a fun alternative to Tetris, and it's actually an adaptative port of an arcade name where it was known worldwide as Block Hole (Quarth is actually the original Japanese name) which Konami made in 1989.
  • Nice list I knew about half these and did a review on snow brothers already. could have used your help a month ago my video would be different :) I might do reviews of some of these in the future.
