Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Davis adopted a variety of musical directions in a roughly five-decade career that kept him at the forefront of many major stylistic developments in jazz.

    In other words, Miles Davis was trying to convey that there is a negative connotation with the word “jazz.” YT critics create these labels that ultimately and subliminally translates to inferiority. Inferiority equates to low quality and low quality equates to low currency 💰. When I think of the word jazz, I think black musicians. However, I also agree that their sounds are “from the air” as Miles stated. It’s def a spiritual experience for me and that’s priceless. Putting a low vibrational word on something of high value is disrespectful. Words have frequencies and Miles knew this hence the disdain✨
