Ammo Types in War Thunder Explained - RELOADED | War Thunder Tank Shells Guide

Updated information will go here as they come, in the meantime, thank you all for 50k <3 Here are some of the shells I forgor to mention, as well as some corrections (read before you comment): ── Extra shells ── -The regular Top-Attack ATGM like the Tow-2B: these missiles fly above the target, and when they're right on top of it, they detonate in a downward angle. It's like the ATGM-OTA, but these don't collide with the armor. -The Starstreak: it's technically classified as a SAM in-game, but it's also a kinetic penetrator. Think of it like an airborne APHE shell. -BUR: a Soviet high-explosive rocket found on the Object 775. It's pretty much a smaller version of the Rocket. -HE-FS: High-Explosive Fin-Stabilized, a regular HE round fired from smoothbore cannons. Because it doesn't have spin-stabilization, it uses fin-stabilization. ── Corrections ── -In real life, the cap on APC doesn't actually normalize the shell, it just reduces the chance of shattering. In-game though, the shell's path is modeled in a way that it normalizes.

I was expecting this to be some sorta April fools thing with whacky info but instead it's just a very well put together guide. My expectations have been pranked.

Even though SAM is not explained here, I think it's worth noting the Starstreak is probably the only APHEFSDS missile in the entire game, since it launches 3 guided darts with around 450 grams of explosive material inside them.

I was actually looking for a new amo guide from you yesterday bit couldn't find one. Just woke up to one.

The VOG on the bmp 2 m has so little explosive filler that it doesn't actually break terrain objects like fences or trees It also doesn't do any damage to tracks at all or very very little. It's practically useless other than using it for blinding the enemy if you shoot them so the gernade detonates and makes a very small dust cloud
