It’s just so astounding how the writers created such a perfectly working system of the elements with cultures and other components so well, all for a kids show. I don’t get how they managed to do this lol

You covered almost every sub-bending element, except one "sand-bending", I realize that there were only a few instances of it in ATLA, but it's still a sub-bending ability tied to earth-bending even if it is only practiced by a handful of nomadic tribes. IMO it'd probably get ranked fairly low.

Toph is very reluctant to allow anyone else to touch her feet, probably because insensitive handling there would make her deaf to other vibrations and thereby render her helpless (and because they are far more sensitive than other people's feet).

I feel like Aang at least had partial spiritual projection. Since he went into a spirit form often but couldn’t be seen/communicate much. A early form of it or even the bases of it.

I'm writing a fanfic for the next avatar. My premise is the New Avatar Cycle, wherein Korra's separation and reunification with Rava during Harmonic Convergence not only restored air bending to the world but also 'birthed' a new nation of spirit benders who can bend either their light or their shadow. So while the various powers of the world search in vain for the earth bender they think is the next incarnation, the true Avatar is actually a spirit bender just trying to survive in world where non-bender technology and other sociocultural developments are at odds with the old spiritual practices and beliefs, despite the ending of the Legend of Korra.
