'I just held him down and kicked the knife away from him...'

Eyewitness and security guard, Abdullah, was involved in disarming of the suspected knife attacker in Leicester Square before the police arrived.

A girl, aged 11, was taken to hospital with stabbing injuries. She is seriously injured and will require further treatment, but her condition is thankfully not life threatening.

Her mother, aged 34, also suffered minor injuries. A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene. Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the attack.

Why on earth are girls and women being targeted? Only a coward would do this. Hope and pray for the 2 victims.

He's not a suspect he did it and people saw him. Straight to court and jail for 20 years

It was the security guard and two other members of the public that apprehended the suspect. Not the police!

As an Irish man it is so sad to see what's happening Ireland and the UK. God help us all.

How can the stabber be called "suspect" if they jumped and stopped him in the act of committing the crime?

I can't believe what is happening to Britain. It makes me angry and almost tearful if I remember the beautiful country I grew up in during the 70s and what a pos country I am passing on to me young adult kids.

I hope the security guard doesn’t get arrested for assaulting a person with mental health issues.

There is no reason why the police can't name the perpetrator straight away, and there is no way they can say it is not terror related at this early stage. They have learnt nothing from two weeks ago
  • @thomasmartin7816
How hard is it to ask the witnesses for a physical description of the attacker? That's rudimentary journalism.

Parliament should be recalled . Keir is not the man to deal with this. We are meant to be in a democracy not a dictatorship.
